Headache
It wasn't long after the reintroduction that the others seemed to be ready to leave. Julie had reserved the training arena for quite some time but after the first fight they had given up their right to it for the remaining fights. Just the one fight against Julie had been more than enough to tire them out, leaving them sore even after receiving a number of healing spells from Andrew. Though Jien had his spatial bag he had not made any salves or concoction, leaving them with his father and the staff for use if they were needed. The academy would have likely confiscated them anyway as they would be unable to determine their safety without the use of resources they could better use.
In the end they chose to go to one of the offices meant to provide medical attention just to ensure that they would be fit for the rest of the day. Jien had suggested this path after taking another look at Julie and finding it not much better than before even after some time had passed. She still could only barely walk with substantial effort, her grip just firm enough to hold her spear.
The rough girl had told him not to mind it. This apparently was her usual in her day to day matches in the Dungeon Rings. She would be lined up for matches back-to-back, likely trying to end her life but failing each day. She would blitz through these fights, pushing herself to her maximum potential and then would make it to her room before eating, resting and waking up the next day to repeat the experience. It was this statement that truly made it sink in for the others why she was so strong despite not knowing about anything. She was forcing her body to constantly break down and rebuild stronger to handle just that little bit more strength.
She was forward that she was forced to worship a goddess whose domain was in the spear and shield. She didn't even get to know the goddesses name and when she had communed with the god but for the instant that she had all she had heard was pity in the firm but crisp voice that whispered to her. It told her of three spells and a way to fight, one that she had used against the others just prior. That same voice told her to constantly give her all if she wished to survive and grow. And so, she had. Every fight was the edge of life and death, every struggle putting her body under the most strain it could handle without falling apart.
Jien's thoughts on the topic were clear as crystal. She had done what she needed to do to survive and had succeeded in doing that. She was a force to be reckoned with as she was, but the goddess she was made to worship had only given her the solution to her immediate problems. She was strong, but in her current state she would hardly be able to work with them in a capacity that would be helpful from a long-term strategic standpoint. The entire issue was giving him a headache, and it didn't help that he had just offered to be this girl's tutor so that she could get caught up with the least knowledgeable of them.
It was Jien was still mulling over this issue that they arrived at the building that contained one of the many clinics throughout the academy. They stepped through the wooden door to see a simple seating area and a desk with younger brunette woman sitting behind it skimming a book. At the sound of the door, she looked up to see the group of teens looking a little roughed up but relatively fine, except for the girl forced to lean against the two taller girls who helped her walk.
The group felt lucky that the office was empty, meaning that they didn't have to worry about waiting. What they didn't know was that Jien, having spent the free day they had prior, had not only taken in the rules of the academy but a few different maps of the academy, layering them in his Personal Library to get a better feel for the build of this prestigious institution. This had allowed him to find a clinic in a slightly more hidden path than some of the others, though a little out of the way.
After they helped Julie to the desk, she gave her name and the unit number to the girl who wrote it into a ledger of sort before helping Julie into the back office behind the desk while the others sat up front in the waiting area. As they waited Jien was still wracking his mind truly trying to avoid the headache that he knew he would be facing as the leader of the group. Julie was definitely a talented and fierce fighter, almost intuitive in her fighting style, but it was one meant for one-on-one fights and one so unpredictable that you could hardly build it into a team strategy.
How could he make use of all of her talent without muddying the waters both for the others and for Julie herself? Would he be forced to compromise? It was truly a conundrum that he was struggling with and he feared that he didn't have long to figure it out. Once term started, they would need to have at least something basic figured out.
