Chapter 38
38 – Frozen Town, Cold Heart (7)
The frost giant was different from other yeti.
Unlike the yeti, who are about the same height as me, the frost giant was different in size.
Compared to my opponent, my height only reached my chest.
The power was ridiculously strong. He was holding a wooden stick with both hands carved from a whole tree.
It was huge enough to match me in size alone.
Perhaps even one hit would not make it safe.
It was dangerous to block with a shield. It was clear that he would not be able to overcome the shock and fall to his knees.
And there was one more reason why frost giants were hard to deal with.
“Kayla! You can’t use fire magic!”
But it’s already too late. Immediately, a huge fireball hurled into the air.
The opponent didn’t even defend. I caught the flying fireball with my body.
I only hesitated for a moment from the power of the explosion, but took no damage.
There were no scars, let alone burns.
The frost giant had resistance to the fire attribute.
Kayla was taken aback, but she immediately grasped the situation.
Immediately, she removed the magic circle and prepared a new spell.
The opponent who received the preemptive attack screamed with excitement.
My eardrums tingled at the deafening shouts.
If there was a commotion, other monsters could have flocked to it.
We had to finish it as quickly as possible.
“Kayla, can you tie her feet in some way?”
“I’ll do my best!”
With those words, I stood in front of the frost giant.
I straightened my posture with a deep breath.
The opponent was strong. But that doesn’t mean it’s invincible.
As much as his body was large, his weaknesses were clearly revealed.
The opponent threw a huge club at me.
The power was frightening, but the speed was decidedly slow.
Right before the stick hit, he threw a forward tumble.
The earth shook and a huge wind pressure brushed over my head.
I hurriedly flailed my arms as if I didn’t think I was going to jump head-on.
I didn’t miss the opportunity and stabbed the blade into my arm.
“Ugh… !”
It felt like driving a blade into hard rubber.
Only a slight wound remained, but the frost giant did not budge.
It was an absurd tenacity.
Right away, a rocky fist flew right into my face.
I gritted my teeth and jumped in place.
‘Now… !’
There is a gap until you can retrieve your fist.
He threw his shield at his face. The shield engraved with the eagle pattern was pierced by the giant’s philtrum.
While the opponent hesitated, he held the dagger he had hung from his leg with his other hand.
Without even a moment to look away, the frost giant swung his club again.
Immediately he lowered his head and rolled on the floor.
I immediately took out his dagger and drove it into the top of his right leg.
A moan of pain echoed across the sky.
He was trying to put the other foot up and crush me.
I hurriedly rolled on the floor and got out of my seat.
The kick lightly brushed against the abdomen.
I felt a considerable shock even with the attack that got me out of the way.
“I am ready!”
I finally heard the voice I had been waiting for.
At the same time, a huge magic circle spread across the sky.
Hastily stomped his feet and got away from the giant.
The magic circle immediately lit up and a storm raged.
The haze of the gust wrapped around the giant’s body.
Unlike fire magic, it worked this time.
The frost giant’s body tilted and his posture collapsed.
“Now. Let’s finish like this…?!”
In an instant, something unexpected happened.
He threw the club the Frost Giant was holding at Kayla.
Concentrating on her magic, she couldn’t escape.
I was beaten straight with a club the size of a man.
As it were, Kayla flew several meters and crashed into a tree.
“Kayla!”
“It’s okay…!”
Fortunately, he didn’t appear to be seriously injured.
The giant stumbled and tried to get her bearings.
She couldn’t miss the opportunity she had just created.
Before raising her body, she lunged forward.
I thrust a knife into her leg and tore the flesh apart.
Deep scars were carved from her knees to her calves.
Of course she couldn’t stand still.
Her body collapsed as she threw her fists at random.
When a fist grazed her face, her hair became soft.
She could have been punched right in the face if she had turned her body to her right just a little bit.
But she didn’t even have a moment to be afraid.
She continued her series of attacks with the sword held in both hands.
As if covered in her eyes, her pure white skin was gradually stained with red blood.
Finally, even her desperate struggle began to subside.
Eventually, the frost giant lost control of her body and threw her to the ground.
She gave her last stand, struggling even for that moment with her hand.
But it didn’t make any sense. Calmly, she stepped up to the giant’s chest and thrust her sword into it.
A huge heartbeat jumped out in an instant, and her vitality gradually subsided.
Death was definitely confirmed. They cut off his throat and threw away his head.
After confirming that the enemy was alive or dead, he ran straight to Kayla.
“Kayla!”
“It’s okay. This much is fine… “
Fortunately, he was not seriously injured.
Her face was frowning as it wrapped around her abdomen, but she stood up unscathed.
Still, with her worried mind, I slowly scanned her body.
“It’s okay,” Kayla said as she brushed the dirt and snow off her clothes.
“It’s okay. It doesn’t matter as long as she’s been hit with a club.”
“There may be bruises or bruises.”
“It’s really good. If nothing else, I can proudly say that I have a strong body.”
From the looks of it, she didn’t look too hurt.
She was unharmed even after being hit with a club almost the size of a man.
She was able to realize how strong she was.
“Thank God. Let’s be careful next time.”
“Ah, yes… !”
I was able to finish the hunt successfully.
But for some reason, Kayla’s expression was not bright.
She held her arm with a cautious voice.
“Seohyun. Can you listen to me for a moment?”
Hesitantly, he quietly blocked her way. She cut off her haste with a nervous look.
“The sun is about to set. If it is any longer late, night may come.”
“…”
“I know this is presumptuous advice, but I just wanted to let you know that going ahead with the hunt is dangerous.”
She seemed to know what she wanted to say.
She
She was recommending that she finish her subjugation and return to her village.
I knew that too. My body has now reached its limit.
I could have continued the subjugation if I really overdoed it, but there was no reason to do so.
“Yes. Let’s do this and go back to the village.”
Kayla’s face lit up at my words.
Kyla was worried about me as much as I was about her.
To be honest, I wanted to continue hunting.
My body was exhausted, but I still had a lot of trouble.
There is about an hour left until the sun sets completely.
Even in the meantime, I wanted to deal with monsters more.
However, as Kayla said, there was no need to overdo it.
I was planning to go around the snowfields and kill monsters tomorrow anyway.
It was better to reorganize and promise tomorrow.
“Kayla. You did a good job today.”
“No. Seohyun-nim worked even harder.”
I wiped the blood from my face and brushed off the blood from the knife.
I mended her pockets and prepared to return to the village.
“It seems that Erina-sama is still subjugating monsters.”
As Kayla said, Erina hasn’t been seen yet.
Even with her, it was impossible to deal with all the monsters in the snowfield.
The snowfield was too wide as I originally expected it to take a week.
“No matter how strong Erina is, it would be impossible.”
“Yes… But since I’m still worried, it would be better to use firecrackers and join Erina-sama…?!”
Kayla’s mouth froze.
Somewhere there was an intense life flow.
Instinctively, strength went into the hand holding the sword.
My senses became sensitive as goose bumps ran down my back.
The tension was strong enough to make me forget the cold, and I held my breath.
I could spot a vague figure in the distance.
It was coming toward us at breakneck speed.
The closer the distance got, the stronger the smell of blood began to waft.
I was able to face the master of killing right away.
“Seohyun-nim… !”
Erina appeared in front of me.
A voice full of melancholy was heard, so it was hard to believe that it was only a half-day reunion.
When she met her, the first thing she said about her hard work was to lightly hold her hand.
But when I saw his face, I had no choice but to hold my breath.
The whole body was covered in blood.
The white skin and hair were mixed with bloodstains and flesh.
From the scabbard to the armor, everything was covered in dark red.
If you saw it from a distance, you would mistake it for a corpse walking around.
Among them, not a single bit of Erina’s blood was found.
All of them were bloodstains from killing monsters.
Even in a mess, she was only looking at me.
He was gasping for breath in excitement.
He stared at me with eyes expecting something.
From noble mtl dot com
In the meantime, the two eyes were shining beautifully.
“Joe, I’m a little late… I managed to get it all done before sundown though!”
It was like a puppy eager to be praised.
But I couldn’t reach it.
If I saw her now, who would be able to greet her with a bright smile?
Still, I suppressed my embarrassment and spoke out.
“Erina. The monsters in the east… “
“Yes! I messed up everything. I killed every single one of them!”
