The Alpha's Return

Chapter 128 - The Mission

Lucas' face darkened. He looked at the cat in front of him with a serious gaze.

"Phrase your sentences properly next time. How dare you ask of something like that. Do you think that the bond that Fenrir and I have is so easy to break? He is literally living within me. Taking him out of me will take years of seals, or someone would have to kill me! Fenrir isn't going to come out of me just yet. Maybe after the siege of Asgard is over, someone could help extract him out. Until then, you are stuck with me." Lucas spat.

"That is unfortunate. But I trust Utgard's judgment. After all, he has more riding on this than I do. If he fails, he is going to die. But for us brothers, we will get chained for another thousand years at most. There is not a god strong enough to kill us. So let us just hope that you will be enough in this mortal shell." Ouroboros sighed.

"I know that talking this much is draining your power. Your fragment is already as small as a real cat, and it is ready to disappear. The both of us will be coming towards you in two weeks. Remember, even on the new moon, you have to suppress yourself. I don't want to see some news of the Earth shattering or something." Fenrir warned.

"I will do, will do," Ouroboros said. As Fenrir had said, with each passing moment, the cat which Fenrir was talking to was shrinking. What used to be as tall as Lucas was only as big as a normal cat now, and with a few moments flashing by, it looked like a baby cat.

The cat fell onto the ground and stopped talking.

"Let him conserve his power. He will need all that he can get. For now, we need to focus on getting our transport for the day ready." Fenrir said.

"And how do you propose we do that? Go back to Asgard again? Where are Odin's stables again? I wonder how the people who maintain them will react when they see that a suspicious man takes away Odin's prized mount. Only you see the horse as a person. The rest will see it as Odin's possession. No one cares about Sleipnr's emotions." Lucas said.

"I am well aware of that. As a fellow child of Loki, I know that no one cares about us at all. It is a consequence of our father." Fenrir sighed.

"You know, I think that if you guys just spoke kindly or something, all of this wouldn't have happened at all. The moment that you guys speak, and the moment that you are in front of a god, you are all like 'I am going to kill you!' and something like that. How else are the gods going to react to you? They think that you are inherently evil. And your revenge against Odin plan doesn't exactly help your case." Lucas said.

"Alright then. I will listen to you for this one. How about we forgo the whole Sleipnr plan and go ahead with a completely different one? How about we talk to the god of space? That way, the going forward part will be all well and good. The coming back part has already been decided to be taken care of by Ouroboros. Then the transportation part will be taken care of completely, and we just need to focus on what happens in the middle." Fenrir suggested.

"The god of space? You are going to have to be more specific. Who the hell is he, and where is he from? This is a different war now. We are not just dealing with the Norse gods. All gods from all sorts of places are coming together. So, there is more than one god of space." Lucas said.

"Fine, fine. Why do you have to be so critical of everything? I am talking about Janus. The roman one. He was not exactly pleased with Jupiter's rule, and with a little persuasion, I am sure that I can convince him to help us in our cause." Fenrir said.

"Janus? The god of two faces? Why the hell would you ask someone like that? Janus isn't exactly known for his space abilities." Lucas asked.

"He can give us two paths. And we are the perfect cheat to his abilities. Because he will give us two doors, as long as we split some part of me into the other door, we will know where exactly to go. He just needs to give us one door to the chaos, and one door to god knows where." Fenrir said.

"But is he going to help us? And what sort of persuasion are you talking about? The violent kind?" Lucas asked.

"You know which kind I am talking about. I am already ninety percent sure that Janus has already been taken into the fold by one god of the rebellion already. He was part of Saturn's camp, if I am not wrong. But as for whether he is willing to help us, we will just have to knock some sense into him. Come on now. Let us go there immediately. It will take some time to get all the pieces together. It is better to get the most important one ready by the time the deadline comes." Fenrir said.

"Oh yeah. I totally forgot to ask you. How the hell are we going back to Midgard? We don't have Bifrost anymore. We are literally stuck in a paradox. We need to find a transportation method, but to do that, we need another one. Kind of ironic, isn't it?" Lucas chuckled.

"Going to Midgard isn't going to be a problem at all. I am sure that Utgard has a portal somewhere here. Midgard is the most resourceful and important realm of them all. Of course he would have to have a way to get there. But where it will take us, I am not so sure about." Fenrir said.

"Why don't we ask him?" Lucas asked.

"You ask him. Why should I ask him?" Fenrir quipped.

"At the end of the day, you still do not want to owe anyone any favors. So pathetic." Lucas spat out as he walked towards the throne. The giant throne was taller than a building, and it would probably be one of the biggest thrones that ever existed.

"How are you planning to get his attention? He left us here in the hall. Don't tell me you want to sit on his throne. That won't get his attention. That will get his wrath. He will murder you." Fenrir said.

"I will just tap the throne. As a king, he will know if anything happens to his throne." Lucas shrugged.

"In fact, I would prefer if you wouldn't touch it at all. What do you two need now? You have basically drained all of Ouroboros' power, and we will forever lose a big part of our castle. You better have something good." Utgard's voice rang out behind Lucas.

"What is with celestial beings and their tendencies to turn up behind others? Why does everyone have to surprise the mortal? You aren't impressing me anymore. I have a literal wolf in my belly. This isn't impressive. It is just creepy." Lucas grumbled.

"Old habits die hard." Utgard smiled lightly.

"Sorry about your cat. After the rescue mission is over, I will ask Ouroboros to replenish the cat's power. I will personally do that." Fenrir said.

"No thank you. I will do that myself. Do you think that I do not know what you are doing? I do not want to owe you another favor. I will rather take it upon myself to ask him." Utgard shook his head immediately.

"Now that we are done talking about all of this useless stuff, is anyone interested in doing something good? Something important? How about we go to Midgard? Utgard Loki. Do you have any portals that lead back to Earth? We need to go to Mount Olympus. We need to meet a Roman god there." Lucas said.

"First of all, that tone is not one that you raise against a king, boy. And second, why would you go to Mount Olympus if you would want to meet a roman god? I thought that Greek gods lived there." Utgard asked.

"Roman, Greek. Except the both of them, almost everyone knows that they are the exact same people. So why don't we cut the crap and get to business? We need to go to Midgard. I will take care of going to Greece after that. I have my ways. But the biggest part of the journey is one that I can't handle myself." Lucas said.

"We have a portal, but I haven't used it in years." Utgard nodded.
