Chapter 125 - Taking Over Asgard
"You want to attack the gods? How bold. That is one of the most ambitious and dumbest things that I have ever heard somebody say." Lucas chuckled.
"I respect that you got so far in the trials, boy. But this is a matter of divine beings now, and a mortal like you has no place in this discussion. You are only here because Fenrir is here with you. So why don't you stay quiet and let your master speak?" Utgard Loki said coldly.
Lucas raised his eyebrows. Of course he was offended by what Utgard Loki said. He got up with rage, and clenched his fists. He was about to charge towards the giant, when Fenrir stopped him in the nick of time.
"I think what Utgard meant to say was that you shouldn't speak out of turn. Let us just disregard all of the latter statements, and just focus on the task at hand. Taking over Asgard is not a simple matter. The giants of Niflheim fought under the banner of Ymir before, but they lost miserably under the hands of Odin. And now, they also have Thor with that stupid and irritating hammer in his hands. How do you propose we go against so many strong gods? Let us say that you take Thor and I take Odin. Who is going to take care of razing the city? You cannot rush things like Ragnarok." Fenrir said.
With him quickly changing the topic, both Lucas and Utgard did not pursue what happened before.
"For the war, is Ouroborous going to join? If he is, then all we need is a distraction and a few powerful giants who will be able to take care of the main fighting gods. Then, Ouroborous will swallow Valhalla, and then Asgard." Lucas said.
Utgard was about to say something, and judging by his expression, it wasn't pretty. Once again, Fenrir had to play the middle man.
"Listen to what he says. It is not a bad idea. I heard that someone was shaking my brother's chains. Is it true? If he is freed, then all of this will become infinitely easier." Fenrir said.
"Let us say, on the off chance that this suggestion is a good one. Who will play the distraction? Who would warrant a big enough presence for the majority of the gods to leave Asgard unprotected? What this human says is simply not feasible, and a waste of time." Utgard shook his head.
"Fenrir is right here. Surely he will be a big enough distraction. And no one will face a chance against him. No one ever actually defeated Fenrir before. They tricked him into those chains, and now the chains are somewhere secure. Very secure. Unless I bring them out, even the gods will not be able to access them. And they will not have the time to commission another pair from the dwarves. They will not be ready for an attack from Fenrir. Not after he has been quiet within me for so long." Lucas said.
"That is a good thing to say, but the execution will be so difficult. And do you really think that these gods do not have other measures against Fenrir? They hate him more than anything else in the world. Of course they will have other measures against him. The chain was number one. That's all. There are so many more that you don't know about. So then, why don't you sit tight and listen to what I have to say." Utgard said.
"Fine. What extraordinary plan do you have?" Lucas asked as he took a seat.
"We need some help of course. I don't know how you heard of the rumors of Ouroborous being freed. Those were my men, and it was a pity that they were not successful on the first try. We have other ways to free him, and once the gods hear that Niflheim is planning another attack, they will put all of their concentration there, and they will not see attacks coming from two other directions." Utgard grinned.
"Niflheim? We are in Jotunheimr, are we not? Are you planning to throw Ymir under the bus for this one?" Lucas asked.
"He was begging for it. And since when did you have a soft spot for Ymir of all people? When did anyone at all? He is one of the least likable people there is. That is why, I am planning to get rid of his stupid face and his army." Utgard grinned.
"Let us say that all of this works out. What next? Let us say that a few gods leave Asgard. For this, Thor will definitely leave. He hates those giants the most. Again, Fenrir will be in charge of Odin. What will you do? Do you guarantee that you will be able to take care of all the gods in Asgard before Ouroborous comes in and swallows up the city? There will be little time before that happens. You will have a short window to drive everybody out." Lucas said.
"I am one of the most powerful people in the world, boy. Even Thor fears me. The next time you doubt my capabilities, will be the last time you see anything at all." Utgard Loki growled.
"You guys are the most obnoxious people that I have had to talk to. With every few words, you two bicker like children. When I of all people have to mediate a talk, this is the worst possible conversation that can happen. Sit down, and start acting like grown up men. All of us here have been alive for more than centuries. Surely we can be above all of this pettiness." Fenrir said.
Utgard looked away while Lucas stopped what he was doing. He looked down towards the table with shame.
"Now that one thing with the whole plan is over, why don't you tell me when you plan to release Ouroborous? Unlike with me, the gods are actually more terrified with that idiot. He encircled the whole world, and every time he farted or his stomach growled, millions of people met their demise. He even accidentally swallowed a few lesser gods. All the gods of all the regions are hesitant to relax their restrictions on him. Freeing him is one of the hardest parts of your plan." Fenrir said.
"About that... there is a reason that I put that off until Loki convinced you guys to join me. I needed you to help me out for this one. Fenrir. You have broken through your restraints once. You need to help your brother break out of his. Nothing beats your expertise in this other than the dwarves themselves, and I do not want to alert the gods. Why not shed some brotherly love now?" Utgard said.
"Hehe. I should have known that you were going to spring this surprise on me. After that whole time limit thing, and with Loki begging me, I expected you guys to give me a task immediately. But to ask me to do something so reckless, and so dangerous almost immediately after joining? That is taking it too far." Fenrir said.
"What do you mean? There is a reason that we need you to come to our side. There are not many who can do the things that we need them to do. Why the hell did you even join us? What did you expect we would ask you to do?" Utgard Loki asked.
"That is not the reason why I am disagreeing. You are putting such an incredible task in my hands. But you haven't even shown some hospitality. Not a single welcoming gift. Even Lucas got a gift, but I didn't." Fenrir said.
"So that was what that was all about. You wanted a gift? To think that even Fenrir himself was not beyond those mortal shackles of greed." Utgard chuckled.
"What did you just say? No one is beyond those mortal shackled, you big broody idiot. Especially not you lot. All of you are greedy for power, and that is why you even risk your lives for this. You of all people don't get to comment on what I desire." Fenrir scoffed.
"What do you want? Just tell me. As long as it is in my capabilities, then I shall give it to you." Utgard said.
"I want a realm for myself. Doesn't matter which one. I know that you are planning on razing Niflheim to the ground. After that, give me a few leftover humans, and put them in this realm. I will heat it up a little, and have a nice playground for myself." Fenrir chuckled.
"You want a realm for yourself? Are you joking? There are only so many in this world. I cannot promise a whole realm for you. I can give you a country. That is the most that I can concede." Utgard shook his head.
