Chapter 146: How To Fly
Hello, it's me, the shadow clone that formerly owned a working flying train. I spent a wee while crying at the crash site, and I'm still at the crash site, but I've recovered. I've also managed to dig it out from its sandy tomb. I am now very familiar with why Physical Madeleine hates sand. It really does suck. Another thing that sucks is my lack of knowledge when it comes to trains. How do they go fast? How do they go slow? How do I make them fly? I assume the last question is answered with magic, but Madeleine only knows offensive magic, so I probably won't be able to make it fly permanently. I know I can make it fly temporarily, but that'd end up with it being trashed more, and I don't want that.
On the bright side, the interiors are clean and fixed up! It's amazing how easy cleaning is when you can just summon a bunch of clones of yourself… well, they're actually clones of Physical Madeleine, but I'm basically Madeleine, besides the fact that I own a flying train, and she doesn't. Sure, it's broken, but it's still a flying train.
So yeah, I cleaned up the insides, and it makes for a very comfy home. It was a train made for long-distance travel, at least according to Lilah. She stuck around, mainly because she doesn't know her way around Mendass and got very attached to her room. I've seen it, it's a fucking mess. She won't let me clean it, though. Which makes me think, why? I'm literally a maid. It's my job.
So yeah… that's life. I go around the train, cleaning whatever, finding random little grains of sand every now and then, and Lilah stays in her room. A very uneventful life, especially compared to what the other shadow clones are talking about in our weird mind network. Apparently, all the castles in Mendass are being turned into glass, the Gods of this world are fighting demons, and the entire southwest portion of Mendass is getting absolutely fucked. I'm technically on the southwest portion, but closer to the centre than Cyst City, which is the most southwest of the countries.
Actually, I did forget one little detail. The Goddess of Life, Avit, is a roommate, for some reason. Apparently, this train has alcohol from Earth, which she really likes. Hmm… I think that's everything notable… yeah.
Suddenly, Avit ran into the train car I was in, a bit panicked. "The bandits are here again with their tank!"
I looked out the window, finding the train surrounded. I forgot about the bandits. Apparently, they're a group of wandering bandits who love collecting rare and exotic vehicles. They have a tank that can sink into and rise out of the ground, one of the three cars created by the Golemancer, and a blimp… well, they used to have a blimp. I shot it down in one of their many attempts to take my train. Don't ask how.
"Little maid! Once again, our offer stands! Give us the fucking train, or else we'll murder you, your useless shut-in and that alcoholic whore!"
Avit ran to the closest window, sticking her head out. "I'M NOT A WHORE. I JUST REALLY WANT PEOPLE TO PROCREATE!!!"
"Shut the fuck up, ho!"
I pulled the Goddess back, chopping her head. "Ow! What was that for?!"
The last time Avit got angry at the bandits, she ended up tearing off the entire wall of one of the train cars. Fortunately, the bandits helped with repairs since the train is their objective. They also know how to fix the train, but they won't, because they want to own it. It's my train. I own it. I reach into my shadow, grab my anti-offer signs, and throw them out the window at the bandits.
"You bitch! We'll make you pay! We have a new friend, after all!" Suddenly, one of the bandits grew in size, big enough to grab the train car and lift it up. At least part of the train is in the air again… I hope they don't throw us. "Throw them, Natit!" I peeked out the window into the giant's eyes, pleading with them in a futile effort before they threw the singular train car Avit, Lilah, and I are in. At least it's a flying train again… also, the giant was a Sacred Power holder.

Well… I wonder where we'll land.
Meanwhile, in Sacre Pla
"I am here to report, princess Carte!"
"Very well, Joker, tell me what you and your task force have figured out."
"Your daughter Eliza and son Jeremy have safely arrived at Sorceress Maxine's safehouse."
"Good, good. What about Melina and her… other selves?"
"We have managed to find the Villager and the Noble. The rest are still being tracked, aside from the Ranger and your daughter Melina."
"I thought they were the easiest to keep track of. What happened to them?"
"Melina was taken alongside the bunny beastkin maid by a tentacle into a dark portal, meanwhile, the Ranger was swallowed into a hole in reality made above Trogen alongside her lover."
"Umm… what?"
"I am just saying exactly what the Suits were telling me!"
"I… see. I fear there's nothing we can do but pray, then. Hmm… anything else of note?"
"A shadow clone of the Ranger's lover was seen robbing the royal treasure vault."
"Explain further."
"She stole the bodies of those dangerous threats frozen by Sorceress Maxine. It should be noted that the shadow clone seen was eating a cookie."
"That's… not good… have the Ones to Fours investigate that."
"Got it!"
"Anything else?"
"A train car crashed into the palace's dungeon."
"Huh?"
"Once again, I am just saying exactly what the Suits told me."
"I… will investigate that myself."
