Chapter 31 – Here’s some shit for you to eat
"Stop right there!"
Suddenly, a cold voice came from behind.
Xu Hei turned around and saw the big black dog glaring at him with its eyes fixed intently on him.
Those eyes were no longer eerie and sinister as before but filled with human-like anger. The voice, too, was no longer that of the black dog but had become the Mountain God's!
Xu Hei felt his mind go blank with a "boom."
At this moment, his thoughts raced, and he stammered, "Mountain God, how... how did you turn into a dog?"
"I've already performed body snatching. Didn't your inherited memories include this term?"
The big black dog stared at him, its voice devoid of any emotion.
Heavenly Demon Scattered Person was furious with Xu Hei to the extreme, wishing he could kill him on the spot. If it weren't for Xu Hei obtaining his memory inheritance, making him half a disciple, he would have acted long ago.
"Body snatching?"
Xu Hei was initially shocked but quickly understood.
He wasn't stupid, just inexperienced and lacking in knowledge. He had never heard of body snatching before, but now he quickly grasped its meaning.
Xu Hei retreated several feet, his eyes filled with anger and fear, and asked in a low voice, "You're not the Mountain God?"
"When did I ever say I was the Mountain God? I merely parasitized a Mountain God statue. It was your wishful thinking, not my problem," the big black dog sneered.
At this moment, Xu Hei felt a surge of anger explode in his chest, his breath unsteady.
He had been fooled!
He had offered sacrifices, bowed to the statue, and prayed for smooth cultivation. But in the end, there was no Mountain God, just a cultivator who appeared out of nowhere!
Despicable! Absolutely despicable!
Xu Hei felt utterly deceived.
"You're impersonating a deity. Aren't you afraid of retribution and going to hell after you die?" Xu Hei shouted in anger and shame.
"Retribution? Hahaha!"
The big black dog seemed to have heard an extremely funny joke and let out a dog-like laugh.
"In the memories I passed to you, there's no mention of retribution. Hell is just a comforting lie for ants. How could you think of such nonsense?"
"Look at that black dog, digging graves and stealing corpses, not believing in gods or evil. Now that's more like my memory inheritor!"
At this point, he paused, staring at Xu Hei for a long time, feeling something was off.
Xu Hei stared back at him, unflinching.
After a long while, the big black dog tentatively asked, "Have you ever heard of the Heavenly Demon Scattered Person?"
"What scattered person? A dismembered person? I swallow them whole," Xu Hei replied.
The big black dog was deeply shaken.
In his memory inheritance, although the information was limited and didn't involve secrets, it definitely included his own title.
However, Xu Hei didn't recognize the Heavenly Demon Scattered Person at all. There was no such person in his memory! And it didn't seem like he was pretending.
This snake didn't obtain his memories?
How could that be? Then how did he gain enlightenment?
The big black dog's mind was in turmoil. He stared at Xu Hei, finding it more and more unbelievable. His intense gaze made Xu Hei feel uneasy.
Xu Hei didn't want to deal with him. He didn't know the strength of a body-snatching cultivator, but he was sure it was beyond his capability. It must be stronger than him.
Xu Hei didn't want to provoke such an unknown entity. Without a word, he turned and crawled away.
Seeing Xu Hei walk away, the big black dog thought for a moment, then sneered and followed.
Xu Hei quickened his pace, and the big black dog matched it. Xu Hei used the Earth Escape Technique, but the big black dog was even more adept at it.
The two of them, one in front and one behind, were inseparable, no matter how hard Xu Hei tried to shake him off.
…………
A day later.
Xu Hei returned to the vicinity of his territory.
He turned around, looked at the black dog, and said, "This is my territory."
The big black dog sneered, "What, your territory and I can't come?"
Xu Hei was both angry and helpless. He had tested his speed for a day and found that he couldn't shake off this dog. Its strength was clearly unfathomable.
He could only think of giving the dog some benefits to make it leave, so it wouldn't cause trouble in his territory.
At this moment, the wolf king ran over from a distance, carrying a rock goat in its mouth.
It enthusiastically ran to Xu Hei, dropped the rock goat, and squatted on the ground with a fawning expression.
Perhaps in its mind, Xu Hei had already dealt with that detestable human, and it now held Xu Hei in fervent reverence.
"Just in time, I'm hungry."
Xu Hei nodded in satisfaction. This wolf king was quite intelligent, knowing to offer food without being taught.
Xu Hei swallowed the rock goat whole, quickly digesting it, feeling a wave of comfort wash over him.
The big black dog watched him silently, saying nothing.
It wasn't until Xu Hei finished digesting that the big black dog coldly said, "I count as half your master. Aren't you going to show some filial respect?"
"Roar!" The wolf king immediately glared and growled upon hearing this.
The big black dog's eyes narrowed, a flash of ferocity in them, causing the wolf king to retreat in fear, its legs trembling, hiding behind Xu Hei.
Xu Hei hesitated for a moment and said, "Wolves eat meat, dogs eat shit. Wolf king, go take a dump for him."
The wolf king immediately ran over happily, raised its tail, and prepared to defecate in front of the big black dog.
The big black dog was stunned, and soon its face twisted in extreme anger, feeling a surge of fury rushing to its head, almost making it steam with rage.
He didn't know if Xu Hei was truly stupid or pretending, but this time, it was clearly to disgust him on purpose.
"Die!"
He lunged forward, biting the wolf king's thigh.
"Awwooo!"
The wolf king let out a miserable howl, its thigh torn open, and it fled behind Xu Hei, glaring at the black dog with hatred.
It was clearly showing a stance of relying on Xu Hei's power.
The black dog was both angry and amused.
It had been a long time since anyone had humiliated him like this, but this snake didn't seem to see it as an insult.
In the past, he would have killed without hesitation, but now, after two hundred years of slumber, his cultivation had greatly diminished. There was no need to stoop to the level of these two beasts.
Heavenly Demon Scattered Person was inherently stubborn, never giving up until he achieved his goal. Xu Hei had given him a rare bit of amusement.
"Disciple, do you know the consequences of disrespecting your master?" the big black dog coldly asked.
Xu Hei could see that the black dog was bluffing. If it wanted to teach him a lesson, it would have done so already, instead of putting on a show.
Therefore, Xu Hei wasn't afraid.
"I wasn't disrespecting you. Dogs naturally eat shit," Xu Hei said calmly.
"Oh? So, you're admitting you're my disciple?" the black dog sneered.
Xu Hei's expression changed, and he quickly denied, "I didn't say that!"
"Hmph, I helped you gain enlightenment, and you bowed to me in a disciple's ceremony. Whether you admit it or not, I'm your master," the big black dog laughed.
Xu Hei panicked.
He really didn't want to admit it, but going around in circles, the other party seemed to have a point.
"I won't be fooled!"
Xu Hei shrieked and fled.
The big black dog laughed even more triumphantly and followed.
