Exercise
The professor waited for a few minutes, did a check to see if everyone was present, and then ordered the students to run around the gym and do five laps as some warmup.
'Damn, he sure is fit,' Alex thought as he stared at Emmet, who was ahead of him and was currently leading the boys in the laps.
Emmet turned his head suddenly as if he had noticed something and looked directly at Alex.
He waved his hand to say hello, and his face showed a smile.
'At least he's nice, to be honest. I feel like I would get along the best with him,' Alex thought as he remembered what had been said about Emmet in the numerous fanfictions he had read.
'At this point, my memories are a bit fuzzy as I can't exactly remember if it was a true fact or simply part of fanfiction, but I'll keep all the information I have in mind. Better to expect something than not to expect it at all, even if it is false,' Alex thought as he continued to run.
The running for Alex and Emmet was practically useless. Their bodies wouldn't change no matter how much they trained, they wouldn't gain muscle, and neither would they become fat if they overate. A Vampire's body has been frozen since the moment they became a vampire.
For Emmet, that was a century ago, while for Alex, it had been less than a week.
'Though I still have blood pumping through my veins, some of my functions as a human still remain, such as my ability to eat normal food and not just blood,' Alex thought.
'I should check that with Carlisle in the future when I have a better relationship with the Cullens and I can trust them.' Alex nodded as he continued running. It was already the last lap. Everyone around him besides Emmet was already sweating as he huffed out puffs of hot air from the exertion.
'Thank god Jasper isn't here, or the floor would have already been covered with mangled corpses,' Alex thought as the laps finally ended.
"All right, everybody. Now we will do some stretching exercises," the physical ED Professor said.
'Aren't we supposed to do stretching before running? I mean, yeah, it's good to do it after as well, but I heard doing it before you start physical exertion is even more important. Well, my professor also did the same thing in my past life.' Alex thought as he put his index finger on his chin, his eyes closed.
He opened his eyes a few seconds later when he heard the hushed voices on the other side of the gym.
"Isn't he handsome?"
"Yeah, he looks beautiful, as if he comes straight out of a movie."
"Totally, he would do so well as an actor."
"Hey, is he looking at us?"
*Kyaaah*
'God, it feels good but also so damn embarrassing to hear that.' Alex thought as he tried to forget he had ever heard the girls.
The professor then ordered the students to form a circle as he stood in the middle and asked them to repeat his movements and do the stretching exercises.
Weirdly, Alex ended up being right next to Emmet.
'This is really starting to seem like less of a coincidence,' Alex thought as he stared at the bear-like man doing the stretching exercises.
Deciding that he wouldn't be the one to start the conversation, Alex copied the gym teacher as he copied his stretching poses.
'How in the hell did they not get annoyed at having to repeat high school yet?' Alex thought. As he followed a pose, he would never like anyone to see him doing something, but since everyone else was doing it, he also shared their pain.
'I've totally become a better person. If it were the past world me, then I would have already taken videos of this shit,' Alex thought and then shook his head, trying to get rid of the tempting thoughts, only to stop.
'Ah, right. My current phone is so trash that even if I take a video, you probably can't recognize who is who,' Alex thought as sadness at the missing technology gripped his heart.
'Either way, I promised myself earlier this week that I would be less of a jackass, especially to Bella, even though I only acted like how I usually did with my friends back on my earth.' Alex thought as he continued to rotate his waist in a clockwise rotation.
'Maybe I was never a good friend even back then, huh?' Alex thought as the rotation continued.
And it continued for another minute.
'Ok, when is this bullshit going to be over' Alex thought as veins finally started appearing on his forehead.
Thankfully, the professor stopped right at that moment, a sweatdrop going down from his temple as the man thought.
'I feel like I just escaped something.'
The Stretching exercises finally ended, and the gym professor told them to do or play whatever they wanted before he went to his office at the corner of the hall.
At that moment, Alex heard a voice from his left.
"So you're Alex, right? Im Emmet, Alice's brother," Emmet said as he turned to face Alex.
Alex turned around, his expression clear of sweat, just like Emmets, so unlike the rest of the humans around them.
'It's creepy, though I'm creepy as well now,' Alex thought as he stared at the man who hadn't released a drop of sweat from all of what they had done since the beginning of the class.
"Yeah, Im Alex, nice to meet you, Emmet," Alex said as he extended his hand for a handshake.
A large grin appeared on Emmet's face as he took Alex's hand and shook it.
"So, do you like training?" Emmet asked as he headed for a bench nearby.
"Well, not really. I just like to be fit and healthy, not really into bodybuilding," Alex said as he took a seat next to Emmet on the bench.
"Really? Your physique is pretty amazing. You did all that exercise and didn't get tired at all," Emmet said as he turned to stare at Alex.
"I just got lucky. I like running a lot, so I do it often, so running this much isn't even a warmup," Alex said as he held his chin with his hand and stared at the people playing basketball on the court.
