The Residents (II) [BLEACH UNIVERSE]
“What the hell were you thinking?!” Yoruichi screamed as she slammed her hands on the tea table while glaring at Kisuke Urahara. She knew that most of the time he was mad, but that was expected of him considering his mad scientist persona, but this time, he was being bat-shit insane!
YORUICHI SHIHOUIN
Right now, Yoruichi was in her human form, but unlike the last time, she was fully clothed. She decided that she needed to be in her human form to express her displeasure with him. Maybe, she could have scratched his face in her cat form, but Kisuke had a habit of shrugging them off pretty easily
Kisuke took a small sip from his cup as he stared at one of his oldest and most loyal friends before he glanced toward Tessai, his other friend, and from the looks he was getting from Tessai, Kisuke could tell that even Tessai was not happy for him…
“Forgive me, but I was more worried about our safety” Kisuke answered before taking another sip from his cup. His words seemed to freeze both of his friends in their tracks before they could come up with a retort.
“Explain!” Yoruichi demanded as soon as she regained her calm.
“She is no Hollow, nor a Human as you have seen. Her Reiatsu is completely different from anything I have ever felt and I have seen a lot of things. Have you felt the amount of Reiastu she was releasing? She could have easily matched someone like Zaraki Kenpachi or Byakuya Kuchiki” Kisuke explained while looking down at his cup.
“However, that is not what scares me the most about her… Did you see her eyes? I mean actually see them, especially the eye on her forehead?” Kisuke asked. “That eye creeps me out the most. It feels like she could see through my very being” Kisuke chuckled mirthlessly.
Originally, he was planning to imprison and interrogate her. That was when her killing intent had spiked… It was just for a moment, but Kisuke knew that the woman was dangerous. He was not certain just how strong she was, but it felt like she was pretty strong. That was why he decided to keep an eye on her using the pretence of teaching her.
Not only that, there was a very good chance that the woman was some sort of experiment. Aizen had been trying to combine the powers of a Shinigami and a Hollow for more than a hundred years. If Kaguya was really an experiment, then there was a good chance that Aizen might have sent her to keep an eye on him, and that was why he couldn’t have sent her away.
He needed Aizen to think that he was ahead in the game to keep his suspicions in check…
There were a few more reasons. For example, if he had tried to imprison her then she would have fought back, and with Ichigo near them, he couldn’t have risked that. Yes, he could have not invited her, but that could have been more dangerous. After all, the woman was using a physical body and at least his training room would prevent any of her Reiatsu from leaking.
And in case she had no connections with Aizen, he could very well use her against him… He wasn’t going to pull anything for the time being and he was simply going to keep an eye on her until he was certain what she was capable of… He was certain that she had her own agendas, after all, she was pretty vague with her answers, but he wasn’t willing to make an enemy out of her just yet.
So, without wasting any more time, Kisuke calmly explained his reasons to both Yoruichi and Tessai…
“…Kisuke, are you sure you want to do this?” Tessai asked in a grave tone. “She is an unknown variable. Even you agreed that she is quite dangerous” Tessai added with a frown.
“I know what I said, but it is not like we can fight someone like her… She is a complete unknown and I do not want to turn her into an enemy when it can be avoided” Kisuke explained in a hard tone, leaving no room for arguments.
“Fine! But if it goes sideways, I will be telling you ‘I told you so’” Yoruichui grumbled unhappily. “There are still seven days left, do you think she will be able to learn anything in that time?” Yoruichi asked and Kisuke simply shrugged. If nothing, Kaguya was at least diligent. He had given her a few books and she had been reading them like the most diligent student he had ever seen.
“We will have to see…” Kisuke said as he finished his tea. Even though she was a diligent reader, it did not mean that she was a diligent learner. Kisuke did not think that she would be able to suppress her Reiatsu in 7 days, but if she managed to do so by some miracle, he could send her off to the Soul Society with Ichigo and his friends.
“Alright…” Yoruichi sighed as she stood up. “I am going to meet that Sado kid and Orihime. I left them on their own as soon as I sensed her Reiatsu wash over the town” Yoruichi explained as she stretched herself like a cat before she was covered in a plume of smoke. A cat dashed out of the smoke leaving loose clothes lying on the floor.
“Can you clean that Tessai?” Kisuke requested with a manic grin as he knew that his friend did not like cleaning up after Yoruichi. “In the meantime, I must go and greet my new student” Kisuke giggled as he started to leave, completely ignoring the glare Tessai was giving him…
======X======
Kaguya could tell that Kisuke Urahara was up to something. He had given her some basic books related to Reiatsu and Reiryoku, and while the knowledge contained in these books was basic, basic was what she needed at this moment. Kaguya knew that she needed to have a strong foundation before she could reach for the sky. However, Kaguya knew that nothing in this or any other world for that matter, was free.
Kisuke not only agreed to give her a place to stay, which must have been so that he could keep an eye on her, but he also offered to teach her… That took her by surprise… She was planning to force them to teach her, but how was she supposed to threaten someone when they were offering the same thing?
Yes, there must be some strings attached, but if Urahara was planning to treat her education as a deal then she was perfectly fine with that as long as he doesn’t end up asking anything too outrageous in return… Then she would be forced to kill Kisuke and all of his associates. Now, wouldn’t that be a shame?
Kisuke had gone off to talk inside with Yoruichi and Tessai and while she could clearly see them with her eyes, she could not hear them and did not know how to read a person’s lips… Maybe, it was something she needed to learn, but she was certain that they were talking about her. Maybe, they were planning to stab her in the back. If that was the case then she would not feel bad for killing them.
However, she simply couldn’t fathom why they decided to leave Ichogo in the training room with her… Yeah, the two of them were not alone. Jinta and Ururu were there, but the two of them were of little consequence. Wasn’t Ichigo important for their plan? Or was this some kind of test to see if she was an underling of Aizen or not? To be honest, Kaguya had no plans of killing Ichigo as long as he stayed out of her way.
The meeting soon broke up and she saw Kisuke leave the room. She kept following his figure until he was in the training room. “So, what do you think? Is there something you can’t understand?” Kisuke asked as he inclined his head. Kaguya felt like ripping out his spine and beating him to death with it, but she managed to hold back her murderous urges.
“I have yet to find anything beyond my understanding” Kaguya sniffed as she continued to read the book without looking away from the book.
Kisuke opened his mouth to say something before he closed his mouth with a snap. He was left completely speechless by her attitude, but if she didn’t ask anything then how was he going to see how fast she was developing or wrack up her debt meter? “Alright then, I leave you to it. I will be available for any questions” Kisuke added as he tipped his hat and started to walk away.
“What do you want from me, Urahara?” Kaguya asked as she finally lowered the book.
“What do you mean? I am simply helping a-“ Kisuke tried to act innocent, but he stopped when he felt a spike of her killing intent. ‘Damn! How many things she had killed?’ Kisuke questioned himself as he felt a drop of sweat trickle down his face. He realized that he had made the right choice by deciding not to fight her. Once again, he did not know anything about her powers, but her killing intent reminded him of Yachiru Unohana, which was not a good thing at all.
“Do not take me for a fool” Kaguya said coldly as she glared at Kisuke.
“Nothing much, to be honest” Kisuke decided to answer her honestly, at least to some extent. “It would completely depend on your competence. If you make good progress then I plan to give you a task, but if not then you can stay here and continue to learn” Kisuke explained, hoping to satiate Kaguya for the time being. His words seemed to have worked as Kaguya ignored him and started to read again.
Kisuke turned around and wiped his forehead… He was glad that no one besides him had noticed the killing intent or they might have been scarred for life… Maybe, he was exaggerating a bit, but he didn’t want to expose Jinta, Ururu, or Ichigo to such a high level of killing intent. Kisuke realized that from now on, he needed to be more careful with her.
Meanwhile, Kaguya continued to stare at Kisuke’s retreating back without even looking away from her book. Kisuke was trying to play some sort of game with her, that much was obvious to her, but the thing was she needed to go to the Soul Society so that she could steal as much knowledge as she could along with an Asauchi. Yes, an Asauchi was necessary if she wanted to have a Zanpaktou.
Yes, Oetsu Nimiya would be privy to her location, but his knowledge would not matter if she was off the world… However, she started to wonder what kind of power she would awaken with her Zanpaktou. Maybe, it would be related to her eye powers, or it might be related to something completely different… However, for the time being, she needed to learn how to control her Reiatsu.
From what she could tell, Chakra was the combination of both Physical and Spiritual Energy while Reiryoku was simply the power possessed by her Soul, and Reiatsu was basically the manifestation of that energy. Now, to control her Reiatsu, she needed to control her Reiryoku output, which was easier said than done, considering she possessed a physical body.
All of these techniques were made for Shinigamis, not normal humans or someone like her…
However, Kaguya was not willing to give up. She could try the method Kisuke had used to return the Shinigami powers to Ichigo, but Kaguya wasn’t willing to take such risks. After all, the process did not come without its own dangers… Kaguya did not want to have another personality vying for control of her body all the time. Yes, Hollowfication had its perks, but the risks were too obvious in her eyes.
Kaguya was confident that she could surpass both Kurosaki Ichigo and Aizen, and as for the Visoreds, they were simply insignificant in her eyes…
However, Kaguya only had 7 days before Ichigo would travel to the Soul Society with his friends to save Rukia and if she wanted to gain control over her Reiatsu before that, she knew that she needed to cheat. Yes, she would be revealing some of her powers to some potential enemies, but reaching Soul Society was more important and she wasn’t willing to take any chances by trying to use her own Portals to reach the Soul Society.
Her Portal creation ability was more important than her ability to create Clones, so it was obvious what she could afford to reveal…
Kaguya made a single hand sign. “Sage Art: Wood Clone Jutsu” Kaguya muttered and five Wood Clones appeared in front of her, making her smile…
