Rabbit Goddess: REVAMPED

Real World (II) [THE HUB]

“Do you want something to eat?” Riley asked as she slowed down the car in front of a fast food joint. Kaguya was still fumbling with her phone and even though she wanted to ask the woman for her phone, Riley did not dare to do so. Whatever the woman was doing with her phone, she looked quite engrossed.

“Yes, bring me the most delicious thing you can find in there” Kaguya answered finally looking up from the phone screen.

“Alright” Riley nodded her head in understanding before driving into the parking lot. Riely stopped the car and started to climb out of the car, but she froze in her tracks when it seemed that she might have remembered something. “You know, the food from there is going to be a mess, right?” Riley asked cautiously.

“Yes” Kaguya answered simply before she finally lowered the phone and stared at the woman. “I know all about burgers, fries, sandwiches, fried chicken, pizza, etc., but I have never tried them” Kaguya explained before raising the phone in front of her face once again.

“Err… alright” That was not the answer Riley was expecting, but she guessed that was all she was going to get from Kaguya.

Kaguya watched Riley walk away from the car without even bothering to look away from her phone. “So, we are basically some characters from a story?” Zetsu rasped.

“No, we never were. I, for one, know that I am a real being and you also know that you are a real being. Do we really need to complicate things? These Authors could be some kind of diviners who could peek into our world through their dreams. I have managed to change my fate. That should be proof enough” Kaguya explained with a shake of her head.

“I have already proven that someone else is not dictating our actions. If that was the case then I would have been sealed once again even with the knowledge I acquired from her” Kaguya glanced toward Janet who was still sleeping in the passenger seat…

“I… I understand, mother” Zetsu said after a few moments of silence, but it was still hard for him to get over the fact that these people knew of him as just a character from some story. After Kaguya explained her opinion on the matter to him, Zestu also started to think along the same lines. After all, there was no way his mother could be wrong.

Kaguya noticed Riley returning from the fast food joint with a couple of bags in her hands. Riley opened the door and handed her one of the bags. “I got you a couple of sandwiches along with a bucket of fried chicken and a bowl of cane sauce” Riley explained and Kaguya accepted the bag with an understanding look on her face.

“Thank you” Kaguya thanked the woman, which seemed to surprise her as she wasn’t expecting Kaguya to thank her. Even though Riley was never a fiction lover like Janet, she had seen a lot of animes with Janet to have more than enough meta-knowledge. Riley knew what kind of woman Kaguya was, so the gratitude seemed to take her by surprise.

“…You are welcome” Riley said dumbly as she climbed into the car.

“How long is she going to be asleep for?” Kaguya asked as she opened her bag to inspect the contents.

“For 8 hours give or take” Riley answered with a thoughtful look on her face. “We need to get out of here soon and ditch this car. The receptionist and the guys in there were giving me weird looks” Riley announced as she turned on the car. However, Kaguya was no longer listening to the woman. She was already entranced by the smell of the food.

Kaguya took out a sandwich and took a bite… It might sound like an exaggeration, but this was the best thing she had ever eaten in her life. Kaguya finished the sandwich within seconds before reluctantly giving a sandwich to Zetsu. Even though he was conceived by natural means, Zetsu was still her son.

“This… This is amazing, mother!” Zetsu exclaimed gleefully as he took a bite from the sandwich. Kaguya continued to share the rest of the food with him and even though her hands were a mess, Kaguya was glad that she decided to accept the offer instead of acting high and mighty. Kaguya used her powers to clean her hands, but before she could drink the soda, someone decided to ruin their parade.

“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!” Riley cursed loudly as she decided to speed up the car when she noticed a police car trailing them. They blared the siren once and when Riley seemed to increase the speed instead of slowing down, the cops turned on the siren. “Shit! Someone must have called the cops” Riley cursed again.

“Slow down the car” Kaguya ordered as she lowered the window.

“Wait! What are you doing?” Riley called out, but a glare from Kaguya silenced the woman and she followed the instructions.

Kaguya poked out her left arm from the car and opened the EMS eye she had taken from Sasuke. “Amaterasu” Kaguya mumbled under her breath and black flames burst out all over the car, engulfing the car in mere moments. The people inside the car screamed loudly, but Kaguya was no longer paying any attention to them. “Drive!” Kaguya ordered as she closed the window.

Riley clutched the steering wheel tightly as she drove off…

~~A Few Hours Later~~

After ditching the car, Riley stole a new car from an empty parking lot. After Kaguya killed the cops, they did not have any more trouble, but Riley still insisted on ditching the car. Kaguya had no problems with that. Then Riley drove for a few more hours and brought them to an empty-looking airstrip. A small private jet was waiting for them at the airstrip, and Kaguya had to admit, Riley seemed to be more connected than it seemed.

“Stay in the car, okay? I am going to have a chat with them and warn them about you as I do not want them to freak out” Riley slowly explained, getting a nod from Kaguya. Even right now, Kaguya was busy browsing the internet, learning more about the worlds she was planning to visit if she could visit them in the first place. “Hey, guys!” Riley called out as she went to meet the people waiting near the jet.

“Riley! It is good to see you again” One of the men called out as he pulled her into a hug. Kaguya listened to their conversation for a bit before deciding to ignore them. She trusted Riley not to try anything stupid. Riley continued to converse with the men for a few more minutes before Riley finally returned to the car.

“I have explained the situation to them… I am not sure if they believe me, but they will believe me when they see you. Just in case someone pulls a gun on you, don’t kill them?” Riley requested pleadingly, but Kaguya didn’t even bother to humor her with a reply. Why would she care if these humans pulled an inferior weapon on her? However, all bets were off if someone shot her.

A bullet won’t even scratch her much less harm her, but it was simply a matter of principle…

Kaguya unlocked the door and climbed out of the car, earning several gasps… They were staring at her in awe and fear as they were supposed to. Kaguya floated toward the jet and entered it without paying anyone any attention. She heard the humans talking about her in low tones, but she didn’t bother to pay them any mind as they were beneath her.

“Uhh… Ma’am” A nervous-looking air hostess called out. The woman was scared and the way she was trembling was a clear giveaway.

“What do you want?” Kaguya asked without even looking away from the phone.

“Ma’am, I would need you to turn off the phone” The air hostess somehow managed to string her words together.

“Why?” Kaguya asked coldly making the woman wince.

“You must be the alien, right?” A man appeared. He looked strong and gruff. He pushed the air hostess back with a comforting look on his face before his face turned cold as he turned to look at Kaguya. “You might have been some hot shot on your planet, but here, you are at our mercy. You might be able to float around, but your lies aren’t going to fool me, alright?” The man asked with a cold look on his face.

“We are happy to host you on the word of Riley but don’t make a scene. Selling you out to be Government would have been the right choice, but we owe Riley. So, you play nice and we also play nice with you, okay?” The man asked as finally a smile appeared on his face.

Kaguya did not know why the man decided to act like that when she had not done anything to earn his ire, but there was no way she was going to let a human talk to her like that… The man gasped and his body started to tremble. Then a loud snap rang out and his chest burst open, splattering blood everywhere, but not a single drop of blood landed on Kaguya.

Spoiler

The air hostess screamed in horror and everyone rushed inside the plane. “Stop, you bitch!!” One of the men screamed and pulled out their gun.

“You fucing bitch!” Another one screamed and started to shoot at her. The bullets simply bounced off her skin, but Kaguya had decided that she had played long enough of these humans. Kaguya slowly stood up and two Truth Seeking rods appeared in her hands. She stabbed the two men before making another Truth Seeking rod and stabbing the air hostess.

“St-“ Riley finally burst into the place and choked when she noticed the carnage. Kaguya moved past her and killed the last man before she went on to kill the pilot.

Kaguya returned to Riley who simply trembled and flinched away from her. “I have lost my patience, human. Do you want to get healed or not?” Kaguya asked. She didn’t even bother to explain her reasons.

“Al-Alright. Let me grab Janet” Riley stuttered, but she quickly regained her bearings and rushed out of the plane. Kaguya decided to wait and just a few seconds later, Riley returned with Janet in her arms. “Do I need to place her down or something?” Riley asked. Yes, the guys she called were practically butchered, but Janet was more important to her.

“No” Kaguya answered simply as she held her hand over the asleep girl. Her hand started to glow as she inspected the damage.

Healing cancer might be difficult for humans, but for someone from the Elemental Nations, it was pretty easy. Yes, the damage to the body was extensive, but it only meant that she would need to spend more time healing the girl. A green glow surrounded her hand as she finally started to treat the girl. Minutes passed away, and it started to become hard for Riley to keep holding Janet like that, but she prevailed.

“She is healed” Kaguya finally announced and Riley beamed with a disbelieving look on her face.

“Really?” Riley asked as she took Janet to one of the clean seats and put her down.

“I have no reason to lie to you” Kaguya answered simply as Riley continued to inspect Janet. “Now, it is your turn” Kaguya announced and Riley stood up, looking excited.

Once again, Kaguya inspected the damage before she finally started to heal the other woman too. After a few minutes, Riley was healed too. “You are healed too” Kaguya announced and picked up the phone. “I will be taking this with me” Kaguya announced, but Riley stopped her from leaving.

“Thank you. I know we might be parting on bad terms, but still thank you” Riley said with a genuine look of gratitude on her face. “The passcode is 6901” Riley added while pointing at the phone. Kaguya gave her a nod before opening a Portal to leave. Without wasting any more time, Kaguya stepped through the Portal and arrived over some ocean.

“Are we finally going to leave, mother?” Zetsu asked. He also wanted to kill the man who had dared to insult his mother, but his mother had killed him already so he decided not to bring it up.

“Yes, my son” Kaguya said as she stroked her left sleeve caringly. Kaguya thought about the world she wanted to visit and opened a Portal. She stepped through and found herself standing outside an average-looking small town. A smile bloomed on her face as she read the name on the sign board. Now, she only hoped that she had managed to arrive at the correct moment in the timeline.

‘First I would need to map this town and find a base of operations’ Kaguya mused internally. With that decided, she finally decided to head inside Karakura town…
