Descendant [ORIGIN UNIVERSE]
Kaguya carefully plucked out the fruit from the God Tree and stared at it with a complicated look on her face. She had given up so much just for this moment and the moment was finally here, but everything felt completely surreal… Without wasting any more time, Kaguya finally consumed the fruit and a huge amount of Chakra filled her body.
Kaguya opened her Kamui dimension and took out a couple of jars filled with fully mature Sharingan eyes. While she had more than enough eyes to fill both of her arms, she wasn’t planning to do so… After all, if she did that then engaging in Taijutsu would become quite bothersome for her.
She already needed to be careful with her left arm as there were some eyes she couldn’t afford to lose. Maybe, she could use one of the Sharingan eyes to test if she could regenerate the eyes implanted in her arm or not… With that decided, a Chakra scalpel appeared in her right hand and she stabbed one of the fully mature Sharingan eyes in her arm.
The eyelids around the eye closed up and after a second, the eyelids opened, revealing a completely healed eye. Kaguya smiled at the sight but decided not to test anything with the Rinnegan or the Kamui eyes…
“Zetsu, there is a person I want you to find” Kaguya said and used Genjutsu to project the image of Jigen and Ishiki inside his mind.
“What do you want me to do after finding him?” Zetsu asked, not caring about her reasons or anything. Kaguya was also pleased by the fact that he was not asking any questions.
“Nothing. Just find him and keep an eye on him from the distance. Nothing more” Kaguya ordered and Zetsu merged into the ground to carry out her order.
In the meantime, Kaguya decided to visit the moon and acquire the Energy Vessel. For a moment, Kaguya wondered if she should keep Isshiki alive to learn the secrets of Kama, but she quickly dismissed the idea. Keeping him alive in any state would be extremely dangerous, and it wasn’t like she needed a Kama.
Yes, the Kama could act as a backup for her, but she was not like the other members of her clan… After all, only the Patriarch, the Elders, and the Elites of her clan have consumed Chakra Fruits. They are the only ones who could probably match or even trump her Regeneration abilities. The other members of her clan also possessed Renegeration abilities, but their Regeneration was way inferior.
And as for Kara, Kaguya wasn’t worried about them. After all, she had already reclaimed and without Chakra, the members of Kara were as dangerous as a cotton ball…
Kaguya quickly implanted the Sharingan eyes into her arm and when she was finally done, she simply opened a portal, leading to the moon and stepped through. As soon as she arrived on the moon, she weaved through hand signs. “Wood Release: Wood Clone Jutsu!” Kaguya muttered and five tree roots rose up from the ground before turning into her exact replicas.
“Go and find where Toneri Otsutsuki is hiding” Kaguya ordered and all of her clones flew off in different directions. If her Byakugan was working or if she was proficient in Senjutsu then she could have found him easily, but her Byakugan were still evolving and even though she possessed Nature Chakra, she had no idea how to use it.
Well, she possessed the knowledge of how to use Nature Chakra, but before using it in a real-life situation, she needed to train. After all, the prospect of turning into a stone was not pleasant at all…
Only a minute later, a portal opened beside her and one of her clones stepped through. “I have found the place” The clone revealed, earning a nod from Kaguya. The next moment, both of them entered the portal and arrived outside an unground mansion. They could see some autonomous puppets were already gathering on the path, leading to the mansion, which meant that they were at the right place.
Kaguya also recognized the place from her memories…
“My ancestor prophecised that you might return one day” A voice called out as a pale-looking boy stepped out from the midst of the autonomous puppets.
“Yes… I could see familiarities between you and Hamura” Kaguya spoke softly as she stared at Toneri. “Unfortunately, you are not him” Kaguya’s voice turned cold. She raised her hand and a Rasenshuriken started to form in her hand.
“Mother” Another voice called out and Kaguya dispersed the Rasenshuriken when a ghostly being appeared in front of her. “It has been a long time” Hamura greeted with a smile.
Kaguya flared her nostrils in anger. “You dare greet me with a smile after what you did to me with your brother?” Kaguya asked with a growl.
However, unlike Hagoromo, Hamura felt really guilty for his actions. That was one of the main reasons why he decided to settle on the moon and keep an eye on the moon. “I am sorry. I truly regret what I did” Hamura said while looking down, surprising Toneri.
The look on Kaguya’s face softened as tears started to trickle out of her eyes. Even though she was angry at them, a mother could never hate her children, not truly. “I am also sorry for doing what I did and how I tried to do it. I allowed my fear to control me and lost sight of what is important” Kaguya also apologized.
After all, she also recognized the fact that she had also made mistakes… At that time, she allowed her fear to control her and maybe she would have followed the same path if not for the memories of Janet. She would have been sealed again… Kaguya initially wanted to turn the humans into an army of White Zetsu, but now that she had seen the memories of white Zetsu, she knew that they would be completely useless against her clan members.
“So, both of us have regrets” Hamura admitted aloud.
“Seems like that” Kaguya murmured in acceptance, but still refused to get anywhere close to her son. After all, Hamura also knew how to seal her and even though he needed the descendants of Ashura and Indra, she wasn’t willing to take any chances.
“My time has already come, mother” Hamura said, staring at his hand, which was already fading away. “I am sorry for how things turned out, but can you please spare my descendant? He had nothing to do with what happened a thousand years ago” Hamura apologized again while begging her so she would spare Toneri.
Well, she wasn’t planning to kill him either way… “Don’t worry, I wasn’t planning to kill him in the first place. I spared the humans and he is my descendant” Kaguya explained as she quickly wiped off her tears. “However, I am going to take his Chakra” Kaguya added as a look of determination flashed across her face.
For a moment it looked like Hamura was going to protest, but a look of defeat appeared on his face. “That is probably the best I will get from you. He deserves to have friends and live a normal life. Maybe, without Chakra, he will have a better life” Hamura admitted before finally turning to address Toneri.
“Descendant… I do not what to say. Are you disappointed? My mandate and everything else you and my descendants have sacrificed have turned out to be completely meaningless…” Hamura addressed Toneri while looking defeated.
Toneri did not know what to say. After all, he only existed to prevent the unsealing of Juubi and Kaguya, and now that Kaguya was free, his ancestor wanted him to simply give up? How could he do that? If he did that then wouldn’t his existence and the existence of their clan would become simply meaningless?
“I can only imagine how you must be feeling, but nothing you can do… You cannot even comprehend the powers she possesses. I am truly sorry how all of this turned out to be, but please give up. It would be useless to fight” Hamura tried to convince Toneri to give up when he realized that his descendant wasn’t saying anything.
After a few seconds, Toneri finally opened his mouth to say something. “I…” Toneri began to say, but then he closed his mouth with a snap. His body started to tremble as a look of pure rage flashed across his face. “I refuse!! How can I give up now? Everything else would be meaningless if I gave up now!!” Toneri snarled in rage.
“Get her!!” Without wasting any time, Toneri ordered the autonomous puppets to attack Kaguya.
“Do not worry, I won’t kill him” Kaguya assured Hamura when the man looked at Toneri with regret and guilt. Once again, she raised her hand and a Rasenshuiken started to form in her hand. “Wind Release: Rasenshuriken: Kaguya mumbled and threw the Shuriken in the direction of the incoming puppets. As soon as the Rasenshuriken struck one of the puppets, it exploded, engulfing several other puppets, shredding them into nothingness.
Only a crater was left where the Rasenshuriken exploded and even though Kaguya managed to destroy almost twenty puppets with her technique, there were still hundreds of puppets heading in her direction. Her Wood Clone stepped in front of her and weaved through hand signs. “Wood Release: Deep Forest Emergance!” The Clone exclaimed and massive roots started to sprout in front of her, impaling and crushing all the puppets in their path.
It took a few seconds for the technique to end and a few more seconds for the dust to settle… When the dust finally settled, they found Toneri standing along with just a couple of puppets. Except for them, all the other puppets were destroyed by the technique and Toneri could only stare at the scene in front of him in complete horror.
Even though Toneri was blind and missing his eyes, he could clearly perceive his surroundings. Kaguya raised her hand in his direction. “Bansho Tennin” Kaguya muttered and Toneri started to fly in her direction. The puppets tried to come to his rescue, but before they could do anything, the Wood Clone acted and launched All-Killing Ash-Bones at them.
The All-Killing Ash Bones impaled the puppets, turning them into ash, while Toneri helplessly flew into Kaguya’s hand, who grabbed him by the throat. “Do not struggle. Let me see you from up close” Kaguya said with a loving smile on her face as she continued to inspect Toneri.
However, Toneri continued to struggle as he realized that Kaguya was already absorbing his Chakra. He started to claw at her hand, but Kaguya simply ignored him and raised her other hand to stroke his cheek lovingly…
“Toneri…” Kaguya muttered as she started to wonder what could have happened if she had never allowed her fear to control her. Maybe, she would have been known as ruthless but a just leader. Maybe, it would have been something completely different, but Kaguya couldn’t tell. Maybe, her descendants wouldn’t have known her as a monster and they would have looked at her in awe and devotion, but it was nought to be.
She had already made her choices, and even though she regrated them… There was nothing she could do to change them. Toneri’s struggles continued to grow weaker and weaker as she continued to drain his Chakra…
After a few seconds, Toneri finally stopped struggling and from the looks of it, he looked completely tired. He was gripping her arm, but his hands slipped off as he finally passed out. Kaguya handed off Toneri to her clone. “Take him to Earth and drop him near the Hyuga clan” Kaguya ordered and after a nod, the Wood Clone simply opened a portal and entered the portal with Toneri.
“Are you satisfied, my son?” Kaguya asked as she turned toward her son.
“Yes…” Hamura trailed off with a longing look on his face. “I wish I could have spent more time with you, but it is time that I finally pass on” Hamura spoke as stared at his own hands, which were almost gone. Kaguya smiled at him sadly as she stared at him disappearing. “I wish things could have gone differently between us, I guess it is what it is” Those were his last words before he disappeared completely.
“I wish for the same, my sone” Kaguya mumbled solemnly as a lone tear trickled out of her Rinne Sharingan. Maybe, things could have been different between them, but just like Hamura said, it was what it was… Kaguya stared at the spot where Hamura was for almost a minute before she finally decided to move on.
Her reunion with Hamura turned out to be much better than she was expecting. She was expecting him to treat her like Hagoromo did, but maybe, Hagoromo was the only one who turned out to be different, who valued others more than their own blood…
Kaguya finally arrived inside the room where Hamura’s descendants were keeping the Energy Vessel. She stared at the Energy Vessel for a moment before she opened the Kamui portal and took out the glass jar containing her original eyes. Without wasting any time, Kaguya placed her eyes inside the Energy Vessel and she felt a connection establish between herself and the Energy Vessel.
Raw power from the Energy Vessel coursed through her body and a smile bloomed on her face… The surge of power felt exhilarating and now she was looking forward to absorbing the power of Issihiki…
