Chapter 38- Kei’s origin~3!
For the next hour, Kaori and Karen kept on asking things as they made Kei sit on the couch, in between them.
Kei calmly soothed all their anxiety and told them about how he lived until he reached the Human realm.
From what he spoke, it seemed, due to him being malnourished at times of his premature birth, caused his body to grow a lot slower if compared to a normal dragon child.
Over three thousand years, he was fed with his adopted mother's milk and after adapting raw mana around him, Kei was able to gain consciousness.
Thanks to the indirect interference from the Lower Gods, Kei wasn't attacked in the meantime while he grew. Well after Darkness was sealed, there was no one other than his adoptive mother and the Divine Beings who knew of Kei's existence.
It took him time but Kei was able to gain control over his body and regulate his strength according to his surroundings.
After a certain time, Kei was forced to leave the Domain of Chaos, and fortunately, he had enough sanity by that time to cope with the most twisted and complicated beings.
Humans.
In the start, he was having quite trouble restraining his powers and not going on onslaughts after witnessing how humans, especially children, behave.
To vent out his frustration Kei started visiting the underworld using the secret identity of Black Bounty. And through his hunts, Kei was able to release his accumulated soul energy so he could maintain the facade in the real world.
"Wait… If you really are the Bounty Hunter then…"
Kaori's eyes were at the widest reach as she pointed at Kei with her limbs trembling in nervousness.
Kaori wasn't fearing due to him being the infamous hunter but rather the fact that Kei was the one who saved her which further implies that he must remember her confession.
"Kei isn't a normal human but a literal God should have already given you enough evidence that he remembers everything. Seriously, how dumb you can be? Believing those needles and all… "
Despite being rude, Karen's words were true and something Kaori should have realized a while ago.
But right now more than to rebuke the vampire girl, Kaori had her face covered with amber shade as she failed to comprehend what was happening around her anymore.
He actually remembers!
"Relax, Kaorin. If you haven't said those things in that castle I might not have ever come out of my shell and told you guys about myself."
Kei's voice along with his warming touch over her cheeks was enough to pull the fidgety General back to reality.
Despite being still embarrassed she focused on what he was saying with his hand still caressing her cheeks softly.
"You are the first person who said that you love me not for my identity or anything else but for what I am. If you haven't helped me, I might have already left this realm after being confessed by Karen."
Karen's gaze fell in grief since she realize her mistake of rashly forcing her feelings on Kei without knowing his circumstances. She never tried to understand what he is going through or why he wants to stay away from people.
Knowing entirely well, what the stupid girl was thinking, Kei held Karen's soft and cold hand as he spoke in his previous warming tone.
"And you helped me to know that life is not about always running away from my feelings and people. So don't make that face, okay?"
It was impossible for both of the women to suddenly return to their normal selves since there were tons to ponder at the moment.
For Kaori, Kei was just a person she adores like a brother and loves like a man. She always has seen how he loves to stay alone and avoid risky situations.
Suddenly, discovering that the hunter which her whole organization is troubled about for years and that he is the offspring of two Ancient Legends was something Kaori might take a week or maybe a month to register.
Karen was a little less shocked since she had the assumption that Kei might be from the Draconic race but still, a Demi-God?
She never could have thought that she was flirting and playing around with such a being so casually.
She has a lot to reflect on.
"But Kei… What happened to your mother…you never mentioned about her after…"
Kaori's halted abruptly as she saw Kei's expression which seemed to be darken quite a bit just upon hearing about his mother's death.
After a long pause, he finally quelled the anxiety of the two as he spoke something much to the others' astonishment.
"Actually I…
