0037 – Third Evolution
If she were to use a weapon in the future, it wouldn't be any flashy weapons like the katana, machine gun, bullwhip, nunchaku, tomahawk or bazooka. At the very least, this 200-kilogram drum-shaped bronze hammer is definitely not enough.
Zoe casually swung the 200-kilogram drum-shaped bronze hammer in her hand, unable to help but think this way. She now found herself standing in the same mindset as Saitamei in One Punch Woman.
Using this thing as a weapon was really not convenient. Without some weight to it, it felt too light and flimsy. Even though to the outside world, being able to lift 200 kilograms instantly was a sign of great strength, being able to hold 200 kilograms for a moment meant you were a rare strongwoman, and being able to lift 200 kilograms for a moment meant you were at the champion level of the world’s top sports stage even amongst men!
But for Zoe, too light was simply too light, nothing more to say. Swinging it felt like swinging a fan; besides the powerful whooshing sound, there was nothing special about it. She had only evolved twice. In two weeks, she had gone from a nearly frail, sub-healthy youth who could barely swat a fly to a monster who found a 200-kilogram hammer too light. It was unreasonable, but it was the truth. She now stood in a completely different position.
The scenery here was distinctly different. Reflecting on this, Zoe uninterestedly placed the drum-shaped bronze hammer in the corner of the living room floor. She looked at the time. It was February 2nd, just after 8 PM. She opened a short video app and watched for a bit but quickly lost interest. Watching videos had become somewhat bothersome for her.
The principle of videos is to use the persistence of vision, rapidly switching images to create the illusion of motion. The refresh rate determines how many images are refreshed per second.
For Zoe, who had become increasingly adept at perceiving the world in a clear and transparent way, the frame rate of videos was gradually failing to keep up with her eyes. Most videos now appeared to her as a series of rapidly switching still images. She had to consciously suppress herself or find high-refresh-rate videos to watch them comfortably. Otherwise, it felt no different than watching a PowerPoint presentation.
Therefore, unless a video was particularly interesting, Zoe couldn’t watch most short videos anymore. This indirectly led to her quitting short videos.
Reflecting on this, Zoe decided it was better to start today's log earlier. She first lay down on the floor, skillfully beginning her daily maximum number of standard push-ups test.
The standard push-ups she did ensured that each was perfectly executed, with consistent timing and no breaks. Under such stringent requirements, not many people in the world could do many.
In less than ten minutes, Zoe, having reached her limit, panted heavily as she slowly got up from the floor. About ten seconds later, she was back to feeling not tired at all.
She opened the memo on her old phone. Flipping to the last page of "Web Novel Writing Ideas," she started a new entry as usual.
13th Entry: February 2, 2024
- Maximum number of standard push-ups: 5100.
- If there's a need for weapons in the future, it's best to custom-make a heavier one.
- Video frame rate cannot keep up with vision, but intentionally suppressing and controlling it can solve this issue.
