Chapter 37: Fist of Rage
Now while Jian had been screaming, the disciples were all way too far from him to actually hear what was said. Which was why a certain elder was watching the fight from afar, not even fazed by it.
"Father....What's going on ?" Wei Lu asked her father, who froze when he heard her voice.
"Lu'er....It seems our ennemies are quite smart. They disguised one of theirs as this kid, Jian. Luckily enough that agent they sent didn't know about one of our secret weapons." He said, not looking at his daughter directly, for he knew she would be able to tell what he said was a lie. Wei Lu wouldn't be able to tell if it was really Jian or not, because the aura he currently had was different from his usual unholy aura. That and she wasn't good enough to spot someone who had mastered the art of copying one's appearence. She just never had to deal with such an opponent, and so while he would seem like Jian to her she also wouldn't be able to deny the fact that she isn't able to tell the difference.
The only thing that could destroy his plan was if she saw his face, after all he could never lie to his own daughter.
" That woman you mean ? She is your secret weapon ?" Wei Lu asked. Luckily for Wei Feng, Lu'er bought his lie and focused on the servant woman who actually seemed to be stronger than even her.
"Indeed. Observe Lu'er...The might this weapon of ours possess." He said as Wei Lu sat beside him. They were both sitting on the roof of the Elite disciples' pavillion, not even aware that one of said disciples was watching them from within the crowd of inner disciples.
Meanwhile, the fight had went up a notch in intensity. Uma seemed to possess several abilities and used them to dodge whatever Jian threw at her. The problem was, he wasn't showing any signs of growing tired. Actually, the longer the fight drew on, the more ferocious he grew. Which meant she had to end it as fast as possible.
As such she quickly discarded her geta ( Traditional Japanese shoes. ) and ripped apart bits of her robe to allow her ampler movements.
" Sorry kiddo, but you ain't winning this one." She said in an apologetic tone before flashing right in front of him. The sound of thunder was heard as she kicked Jian right in the face, sending him flying a few hundred meters in the air. However she quickly followed.
*Boom*
Thunder striked every time she moved, her body going from a point to another with such speed no one could follow her and she was nothing more than a spark of lightning in the sky.
And yet, none of her attacks so much as scratched Jian. He seemed to be too angry to go down, and it reflected on his inner world. What was normally an infinite field littered with flowers now ressembled a battlefield. Piles of corpses could be seen as far as the eye could go, while rivers of blood flowed and drowned countless horrified faces.
In front of the shadowy Mara, two beings faced each other, a reminiscence of the past. Said shadowy figure looked all around him, shock written all over his pitch black face.
' This...What the hell is this ?! One of those two gave the brat his power...But I thought...I thought it was that damn god. It has to be him who planned for all those beasts to be reunited at some point, but then...It means that he was related to one of those monsters ! Eve...I NEED TO TELL EV-"
[ ERROR ! ERROR ! EMERGENCY PROCEDURE ACTIVATED ! ]
The broken genderless voice of the system resounded, bringing Mara to his knees as he covered his ears.
"SHUT UP !!!" He screamed. A battle raged in front of him, the battle that shaped the world itself, however Mara wasn't allowed to see even a second of it.
The system wouldn't allow it.
****************
( Back with Jian and Uma )
Not only was the boy too angry to go down, it seemed he was also too angry to hit like someone his level would. Every single one of his hit felt like a whole building was thrown at her, and while Uma could resist it was slowly wearing her down.
"I don't know how you got so strong kiddo, but I ain't getting defeated that easi-UGHH"
Uma was interrupted by a kick right in the stomach. She tried to stabilize herself in the air after being thrown away by said kick, however Jian followed too quickly and unleashed a flurry of attacks that didn't let her enough to time to even breath.
An uppercut to the face made her nose bleed while a knee strike to the stomach knocked the air out of her. Those were quickly followed by Jian grabbed him by the arm and throwing her at the court. She crashed down with such speed the court was entirely cracked, and her body left an imprint on the ground.
She had trouble standing up and she didn't have what was needed to actually put up a fight against Jian. While she still had Qi and could use range attacks to get him, he was just too resistent for her. Uma was very powerful yes, but she wasn't a fighter. Her powers were immense but they weren't made for fights. That was why she wasn't an elder of the sect, and instead remained a mere servant.
However Jian was too furious to even feel a bit of pity for her. She looked miserable, the pride that could be seen in her eyes previously was replaced with fear. Blood flowed from her mouth and nose freely and she had trouble even opening her eyes. A good defense could only go so far, once he had her, he inflicted massive damages that she just couldn't shrug off.
"J-Jian...P-Please...I never wanted t-to-"
Jian grabbed her mouth and lifted her entire body with one arm, the intensity of the fire in his eyes setting up a notch. He brought her closer and opened her mouth, but nothing came out. He tried to speak for a few seconds, before his anger grew even more and he simply let go of her.
However she wouldn't have the time to land. Jian cocked his arm back, the fire in his eyes now reaching such intensity it could be seen even by those who were behind him. Like two diagonal beam of fire shooting out of his eyes.
"ARGHHHHH !"
Now more akin to a beast than a man, Jian screamed and unleashed his final attack, a punch filled with all the hatred he had in his heart. Fortunately for Uma, some sort of barrier coated her body right before the fist of rage connected with her body. This however didn't stop the punch, it merely reduced the damages she took.
"T-THE HELL ?!" Karasu Shina yelled as she and the other disciples stared with widened eyes and opened mouth. The punch carried so much power it had produced a shockwave powerful enough to crush the paths that lead to the elite disciples pavillion and the patriarch mansion. After that, neither Uma nor Jian could be seen anywhere, however the disciples had been standing on the exact same paths that had been affected by the shockwave.
And the rock wasn't able to withstand such a shock. The paths had collapsed and some of the disciples had been buried under rubbles while the others had been blown away. In the end only Judem remained, hovering over the mess Jian left behind.
" Hahaha ! I wonder how those damn snakes are going to cover this incident. Giran is going to send them all to an early grave, that's certain !"
************
( A few days later, with Huang Lei )
Having finally reached the tower where the general of the Gorudenryu resided, the group kneeled before the tower and waited. They didn't even bother entering the tower, even though the gates were wide open.
They waited for an entire hour, without ever complaining or even actually moving. Huang Lei winced when a voice boomed in the distance, coming from the other end of the valley.
"ENTER, DISCIPLES !"
The disciples all screamed as they heard the voice and looked around to find where it came from. However Huang Lei merely nodded and entered the tower.
"Big Brother Huang ! What's going on ? Weren't we supposed to meet the general of the-Guhhh !"
They all looked in shock as the disciple who spoke spat blood, his eyes losing their colours in an instant before he fell.
"Wha-"
*Whoosh*
A rip in the air was produced as a sword beheaded a random disciple. Screams resounded throughout the valley, the dead trees suddenly moving as the wind picked up.
The last member of the group watched the corpses of his comrades in shock. A blade was lifted over the disciple's head, it being reflected in the eyes of said disciple before it struck. The world spun around, before his vision finally stopped being chaotic, which was when he realized he had been beheaded too.
The culprit ripped apart the robe of the last disciple he had killed and used the fabric to clean his blade.
"Hmm..Quite clever to send the worst disciples of the sect with me. At least I don't feel even the slightest bit of guilt, and the sect has lost a few scums that made life a nightmare for some of their own comrades."
His blade now clean, he put it back in it's sheath and closed the door of the tower behind him. That's when the voice boomed again.
"Welcome, Son of Raja, Huang Lei !"
