Red hair’s outing
Red Hair POV
“She’s late.”
It was Sunday. I was supposed to be studying today but I was forced to go out and now she’s late. Maybe I should just go back. Yeah, let’s go back. I turned around and she was there.
“Sorry, sorry. People kept talking to me.”
“Then go talk to them. I’m gonna go back to my room to study.”
“Don’t be like that. Are you grumpy cause I was late for the date? I promise I won’t do it again.”
She pleaded with me with a wink and her tongue sticking out. Damnit, I really shouldn’t have talked to her. I sigh.
“When did this become a date anyway?”
“It’s not?”
“Of course it’s not! You’re the one who won’t stop bothering me!”
“Can you blame me? I couldn’t believe that the duke’s daughter was doing things to you, you know?”
“It’s not like I know why either!”
Grr. Just thinking of that annoying girl is making me mad.
“We’re making a ruckus here. How about let’s go?”
“You’re the one who made the ruckus to begin with!”
Damnit. She grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the city center.
“When will this end?”
She dragged me around everywhere and made me go shopping.
“Oh, come on. Don’t tell me you aren’t enjoying yourself?”
“My family was poor so we didn’t go shopping. Besides, I care more on my academics and strength.”
“How is your family by the way?”
“Both of my parents are dead, no siblings either.”
“Sor-“
“Stop. I don’t need your sympathy. People being sympathetic is annoying. Its not like a sorry is going to change anything.”
“I guess that’s true.”
“Like, why say sorry? Do you feel bad that you brought it up? I was the one who said it. Am I supposed to be happy that they were sorry for it? Like, if you weren’t involved then sorry ain’t really something you should say.”
“Woah, you’re suddenly speaking a lot.”
“Argh, it just grinds my gears. I’m just stating a fact and people feel the need to say sorry even though its nothing to do with them.”
“Okay, okay. I get it.”
“Now, are we done with this shopping?”
“Yep! So, how about we go for a meal?”
“Just so you know, I don’t have any money.”
“Seriously?”
“What part of poor do you not understand? That’s why I have to study and be stronger. Higher grades and great evaluations are needed to waive some of the tuition.”
“Doesn’t the school already offer discounts for commoners?”
“It does but the one with the best grades gets it for free. And that’s better than just a discount.”
“Fine, fine. I’ll treat you then. Let’s go find somewhere!”
I was dragged again until I saw a somewhat familiar face.
“Hey, stop.”
“What’s up?”
“You see that girl over there?”
I pointed at a balcony of a café.
“Oh wow, she’s beautiful.”
“That’s her maid.”
“Her? You mean the duke’s daughter?”
“Yeah. Come on, let’s go.”
“Wait, where are we going? Wait for me.”
I walked towards the maid.
“Hey.”
I called out to her but she ignored.
“Hey, maid. I’m talking to you.”
The maid finally notices and looks at our direction.
“Oh. Its miss red hair and you are with miss blue hair. Is there anything I can help you with?”
“Blue hair? My name is-“
“Shh, don’t tell her.”
I copy the posture of that duke’s daughter.
“You aren’t worthy enough to know our name.”
“That is indeed how my mistress likes to talk. So, why are you here?”
“Where’s your mistress? She around?”
“No. Today is my day off and I am spending it here.”
“Figures. Mind if we seat with you?”
“No problem. Feel free to order anything you want. Let us say it is my treat for us meeting today.”
“Seriously? What about you though? All you have is coffee.”
“Do not worry. I already ate.”
“Alright, I won’t hold back then.”
“Hey, how about we order all of these and share so that we can taste all of it.”
“Tch, get your own food. The maid said that you can order anything so just order for yourself.”
“But I can’t finish all of it.”
“Not my problem”
After a while, we finally finished ordering.
“So, what’s the deal with your mistress anyway?
“What do you mean?”
“Like, why the hell does she bother me?”
“Yeah. I wanna know to.”
“Sorry but my mistress does not explain her plans to me but she did tell me something.”
“Yeah?”
“That she is waiting for you to offer yourself.”
“Tsk, she’s a freak.”
I stared at the maid and waited for her to say something.
“You’re not gonna say something?”
“No, it is fine. The mistress has said that I should not care about what other people say. If I focus on those too much, I might lose something instead.”
It’s annoying that I agree with that. The food finally arrived.
“Oi, do you have no shame? Why the hell did you order so much?”
“There too many things I wanted to try! I can get these to go right?”
“Yes, you can.”
“Alright! Time to taste all of them.”
She didn’t even get halfway and already gave up.
“This is why I told you to not order a lot.
“I have no regrets.”
Her head was down on the table. I asked the staff to pack up the leftovers. It was still a lot. As I was helping out with the stuff, the maid spoke.
“I am here every Sunday. Feel free to drop by if you wish.”
“Does that mean you’re treating us again?”
“No. This was special since we met here for the first time. My mistress says that spoiling too much is also bad.”
“It’s always about your mistress for you.”
“Of course. I have no choice after all. I am my mistress’s tool.”
“Tsk.”
We left the café.
“I ate too much. Let’s end the day and go back.”
“That’s why I told you to control yourself.”
Was that a hint from that maid back there? Making someone call themselves a tool, disgusting. Nobles are truly disgusting.
