"Behind us!"

"Intruders! Galvena, bring your team and kill those archers!"

"Yes, Commander Almar!"

"Dalyor, Tared! Stay here with your squad and kill all the remaining Gryphons!"

"Yes, Commander!"

"Malgath! Come with me! We have to protect the Blessed Arcana!"

Commander Almar is a two-meter tall Dark Elf with a huge build. He carries a battle axe unlike the tiny staff and sword carried by the other warriors. 

His body is full of scars and it can't be hidden by his armor as it is everywhere. Nevertheless, it didn't change the fact that he still appears charismatic and deserved to be called the Commander of the Dark Elves.

He was previously a vice commander of his battalion. However, because of the death of the Commander at Isengard Fortress, he was promoted to his position and is now burdened by this sudden invasion of beasts and assassins.

"There's a projectile incom—" Malgath didn't finish her words as her forehead suddenly had a hole after being hit by a mysterious bullet. 

"Malgath! No!"

"Squad leader!"

The Dark Elves under Squad Leader Malgath were shocked by the scene including Commander Almar who wasn't too far from her. 

Unlike the arrows being shot to them, these bullets are almost unavoidable making them so deadly! If they don't have an Arcana or Magic Item they could use to defend, it's impossible for them to fight at all!

Luckily, it appears that the shooter couldn't repeatedly use this ability! If he could, their squad would suffer tremendously!

On the other hand, the Arrows being shot may not be as fast as the bullet because of its angle of trajectory, it is still quite deadly as it seemed to possess more power than the bullets. 

In short, they have to be careful while approaching the shooters!

"Call a few tamed beasts and bring them forward! Let them take the projectiles for us!"

"Yes, Commander!"

Almar immediately thought of an idea as they move. Because of the Gryphons, their mounts died miserably so they can only run for now. 

However, it doesn't mean that they no longer have other beasts that they can use. 

Although they can't be ridden, they still have bears, wolves, treants, and eagles they can command. 

They may not be a match against the large Gryphons who treat these beasts as their food but against humans, they are still quite an intimidating group especially if they come in numbers.

"Graah!"

"Caw!"

The beasts excitedly rushed towards Rufus' team's direction as soon as they received the orders from their tamers. 

There's a total of 20 of them!

"They're sending them as a shield…"

Mourad saw the group of beasts but he didn't panic.

"I can shove them away. However, I will use too much Spiritual Energy…" Rufus said as he asks Mourad if he has an alternative plan.

Right now, they can't exhaust too much energy even though they have Imane and Dingxiang by their side to assist them. Also, he's unsure whether using his Vampiric Arrow against Dark Elves who are adept in curses is a good idea.

Rufus's Ethereal Pathfinder Bow is an Awakened Epic-Rank Arcana. 

It has a total of eight skills which are all very impressive. 

Tri-Shot, is an ability that allows him to shoot at three targets though it might be too weak against Evil Beasts. However, it is very useful against Wild Beasts and humans when he's doing missions for the Sun Fire Knights.

Zeal Arrow and Scouting Shot, are both arrows used to scan the surroundings. The terrain doesn't matter with these two skills. The Zeal Arrow can even be used for attacking with weak damage. 

Vampiric Arrow, this skill allows him to steal Spiritual Energy from his target. 

Eagle's Sight, is a very useful skill and he has been using this almost whenever he's in battle. 

Slow and Evasive Chant, are both utility skills that can help him slow down his nearby enemies and increase his evasive skills. 

Finally, he has an Arrow Storm that he could use against the beasts in front of them!

The Arrow Storm can be said to be his trump card. With this Awakened Arcana's Ability, he has already killed 10 Evil Beasts at the same time which was his highest record!

"Ugh… I don't really have good crowd control skills… I do have Invisible Blast Bullet but I don't think it's enough." Mourad answered after considering all his skills. His Savage Hunting Rifle is really just good for a single target. 

"Got it… Anyway, Imane is supporting me so I can probably pull this off. After clearing the beasts, target the leader of the group coming at us."

Rufus said as his Storm Arrow is more effective against beasts. 

"I understand. Leave it to me." Mourad replied as he readied his Savage Shot. Though he could use his Homing Bullet as well, it is only effective again weakened enemy since that bullet may not be strong enough to break the full defense of an elite Dark Elf.

However, his Savage Shot is different as it ignores the magic defense of the enemies. This is an extremely powerful bullet with a long cooldown. 

After the two made their plan. 

Rufus lifted his Ethereal Pathfinder Bow and pulled its string. He targeted the sky above him which confused the Dark Elves who saw his actions. 

Nevertheless, as soon as they saw the arrow formed by Rufus' Spiritual Energy, they immediately felt worried. 

Twang! 

Swish~

The sound of the bowstring being released and the arrow shot to the sky was heard by the Dark Elves and the Tamed Beasts. 

Commander Almar didn't think too much of it at first since it was only a single arrow being released. However, the sky above the rushing Tamed Beasts was suddenly filled with energy arrows!

"What?!"

Thud! Thud! Thud!

Soon, the hundreds of arrows pierced through the Beasts then finally hit the ground before dissipating into the air. The Beasts were eliminated just like that!

"This is impossible!"

"Perhaps an Awakened Arcana? No, it could even be a Blessed Arcana!"

"Commander! Be careful!"

The squad was surprised to see the powerful attack just now as they even started guessing what kind of Arcana are they dealing with. However, one of them was still monitoring the opponent's actions and noticed the bullet coming their way!

Boom!

Commander Almar was hit by the Savage Shot! However, thanks to the timely shout of his subordinate, he managed to avoid getting killed in one shot and only lost his left arm…

After Rufus noticed this, he immediately gave his order like a true Sun Fire Knight.

"Get ready for a close-range battle."

Rufus said as he unsheathed his Solar Sword and waited for the Dark Elves.
