I Have Become A Demon God. Did You Just Ask Me To Be A Minor Villain?

Chapter 29: Arrogant Protagonist! The smile gradually froze!

“There are still three days left, and I’ll be in the capital too. I’ll take this opportunity to see if I can eliminate some of the protagonists,” one of the villains typed in the chat group named “Crescent Villains.”

“Before the goddess blesses you, you must not do anything. Wait for the blessing before proceeding,” another villain advised.

“I suggest we ambush more people around the capital. Aren’t these protagonists gathering in the capital? We should find a way to rob and kill some of them outside.”

“That might be difficult, as their early warning range is larger than ours,” someone replied.

“……”

The Crescent Villains were chatting and planning their schemes in the chat group. Many of them were planning to come to the King’s Capital under the guise of watching the Goddess’s blessing ceremony. They intend to join forces with other villains in the capital to deal with the protagonists.

Su Mo, the protagonist in The King’s Capital, was not too difficult to deal with. However, the villains had to wait until after the blessing ceremony before taking any action. For him, the blessing ceremony was the most crucial moment.

Su Mo took out a large amount of information from his space ring and quickly scanned through it. Nancy’s intelligence organisation gathered these materials about the various noble families in the Crescent Kingdom.

Su Mo murmured under his breath, “Sanctuary, no wonder…”

In the Crescent Kingdom, each noble family couldn’t be underestimated. During Su Mo’s recent encounters with some nobles, he discovered that a sanctuary was born in one of the duke’s families. This sanctuary was currently located in the Crescent Capital and was likely the primary support of the duke’s family. It was also a crucial asset for the villains in the Crescent Kingdom.

This sanctuary was much more potent than the one Su Mo encountered in the silver ring. While the latter only had a soul remaining, this sanctuary was still in complete strength, making it an incredibly formidable force.

Su Mo noted that these villains were cautious and didn’t use the sanctuary readily. They were likely planning a wave of attacks against the protagonists, but they didn’t take Su Mo seriously, which allowed him to gather a lot of information.

With this knowledge, Su Mo could quickly see that these villains were planning to strike against the protagonists.

“My lord, we have arrived,” Alia, the female officer, announced as the carriage stopped.

Su Mo stepped out of the carriage and checked into the hotel. Alia quickly arranged for a maid to bring water for Su Mo to wash up. However, before he could rest, Su Mo received another magic letter. This one was from Melina, a legendary figure who had already applied to join the Magic Council with a high chance of approval.

After reading the letter, Su Mo took some rest. The next morning, the representatives of the Crescent Moon Queen arrived outside the hotel to escort Su Mo to the Crescent Holy See, as it was the agreed-upon time. Su Mo got into the carriage and arrived at the designated location, the centre of the King’s Capital, located below the floating pyramid.

The Crescent Queen was already there, waiting for Su Mo.

“You’re here,” she said, flashing a bright smile at Su Mo. Since seeing him yesterday, her mood had become remarkably upbeat.

“Let’s go,” the Crescent Queen said, extending her hand towards him. It was time to get in the car, and she needed Su Mo’s help. This was the armrest ceremony that the ladies of the godly world followed when boarding a carriage. The protocol was specific, and Su Mo had to place the back of his hand on the armrest for the lady to hold. Failing to do so would be impolite and unacceptable.

However, the Crescent Queen had never stretched out her hand in front of a noble before. As a saint, she knew she couldn’t even touch a man’s hand. But today, she made an exception. Her face had an invisible blush, although she still appeared dignified. Deep down, she was very nervous because she was worried that Su Mo wouldn’t move.

Thankfully, Su Mo stretched out his hand and helped her into the carriage. The Crescent Queen let out a sigh of relief.

The Crescent Queen’s heart was as sweet as eating honey. Surrounded by many knights, the two carriages proceeded towards the largest church in the Crescent Kingdom. Behind it stood the buildings where the Holy See’s clergy worked. However, the temple in the sky was off-limits to ordinary people.

“There is a protagonist in the Holy See,” Su Mo’s villain panel warned him. At present, there are eight of them nearby. This meant that there were eight potential protagonists in the vicinity. Some of them may not have joined the Holy See and could be hiding nearby. After all, the villains in the area were constantly at risk of being identified by them. Su Mo dared not act recklessly unless he wanted to die.

….

Soon, they approached the church, and a group of neatly dressed Temple Knights in enchanted armour passed by. Su Mo looked towards them and met the eyes of a Temple Knight, who was a protagonist. Su Mo recognised him instantly, and the Temple Knight also recognised Su Mo, as his identity was already indicated on Su Mo’s panel due to the proximity.

The Temple Knight’s mouth was slightly raised, and his eyes showed a strong provocation as if to say, “I’m right here. Come and kill me if you dare.”

Su Mo found it exciting and remained composed, not displaying any anger or other emotion. This protagonist was quite arrogant.

The reserve knights were not particularly strong, with most of them being at the first or second rank at best. Their strength was insufficient to provoke an earl, let alone a villain like Su Mo. But this Temple Knight had done just that. Su Mo could not do anything about him, as they were in the core of the Holy See, and the temple was the core shrine of the Crescent Goddess. The Goddess’ eyes were always watching.

“Who dares to do it here?”

Su Mo spoke up and ordered the carriage to stop. The Temple Knight did not panic at the sight of this, but his provocation towards Su Mo grew stronger. He seemed eager to see how Su Mo would react. The Temple Knight might have even moved to provoke Su Mo if they were alone.

The Crescent Queen, who had been paying attention to Su Mo’s side, noticed the carriage stopping and raised the curtain to ask what was wrong. The Temple Knight’s eyes lit up at the sight of the Crescent Queen, who was a magnificent queen and the number one beauty in the Crescent Kingdom. She was too attractive to these unscrupulous traversers, especially the protagonists, who likely regarded subduing the Crescent Queen as one of their goals.

At this moment, he still didn’t realise the seriousness of the situation.

Su Mo asked, “Your Highness, what happened to that Temple Knight? He was provoking me just now?”

Queen Crescent Moon’s beautiful face immediately hardened after hearing Su Mo’s words.

“Cathy, summon the team of Temple Knights to come here. Dolly, fetch the referee,” ordered the Crescent Queen coldly.

“Yes, Your Majesty,” Cathy and Dolly replied dutifully.

Shortly after, Cathy approached the team of Temple Knights and presented a token.

“The Saint has issued an order for you all to go to her presence,” she announced.

“Yes!” responded the captain of the team of Temple Knights with a respectful salute before leading his knights to the Queen’s location.

“Why is he with the Queen?” The protagonist of the Knights of the Temple panicked as he sensed that something was amiss.

Once he joined the Knights Templar of the Holy See, it became exceedingly difficult for others to lay a finger on him. In other kingdoms, it wouldn’t be as effortless for the king to manipulate him. However, this was the Crescent Kingdom, where the current ruler also held another identity known as the Holy Maiden of the Crescent Goddess. As a saintess, she wielded immense power within the Holy See. Although the current Crescent Queen was willing to transfer power to a new saintess, the transition had not yet been completed. As a result, if the Crescent Queen desired to interfere in the affairs of the Holy See, she could do so without repercussions.

As the team drew closer to Su Mo’s carriage, the protagonist’s smile gradually faded as he realised the seriousness of the situation.
