Chapter 22 Hagrid’s Cabin
So on Friday afternoon, Zhang Xiao and Harry Ron met in the foyer. They left the castle and walked through the fields. When they were near the edge of the Forbidden Forest, they saw a small wooden house.
It is said to be a small wooden house, but has anyone seen a "small" wooden house with a door more than three meters high? In front of this door, which is comparable to a city gate, there is a stone bow and a pair of rubber galoshes.
Well, they're both incredibly big, with the stone bow more like a siege crossbow and the galoshes like a baby bath.
When Harry knocked on the door, they heard a nervous struggle and several low barks coming from the house. Then came Hagrid's voice: "Stay back, Fang, stand back."
Hagrid opened the door a crack, revealing his big bearded face. The three people looked up at him and waved hello at the same time:
"Good afternoon, Hagrid."
"Good afternoon, boys, wait a minute," he said. "Stand back, Yaya."
Hagrid let them in, desperately clutching the collar of a large black hound. The dog looks just like a calf.
The cabin has only one room. Hams and pheasants were hung from the ceiling, and a copper kettle was used to boil water in the brazier. There was a large bed in the corner with a quilt made of rags.
"You're welcome," Hagrid said, letting go of the tooth.
Yaya waggled her tail like an electric fan, hesitated and rushed towards Zhang Xiao, wanting to lick his face affectionately.
"This is Ron." Harry introduced to Hagrid, pointing to Ron who was being whipped by Fang's tail.
Hagrid was busy pouring boiling water into a large teapot. He glanced at Ron's red hair and freckles and said, "Another Weasley brother, right?"
He handed a piece of rock cake to Ron and added in a rough voice, "I have spent almost half of my life trying to drive your brothers out of the Forbidden Forest."
"This is" Hagrid's eyes turned to Zhang Xiao, who was having fun with Yaya, and suddenly his eyes focused on the Slytherin emblem on his chest.
"A Slytherin?"
Hagrid asked loudly without saving any face for Zhang Xiao: "Harry, I'm inviting you and your friends, but I'm not willing to entertain just anyone!"
Harry stood up quickly and said:
"Hagrid, Zhang is my good friend. He has helped me a lot and given me a lot of useful advice, really!"
Ron also said: "Yes! Even Fred and George said that Zhang is a different Slytherin! He is our friend!"
Hagrid looked at his two friends looking anxious and worried, and muttered:
"Okay, okay, you must be crazy, Slytherin actually made friends with Gryffindor."
Then he shrugged at Zhang Xiao:
"Sorry kid, I didn't mean it against you, I uh, I hate all Slytherins."
Hagrid looked at Yaya who was enjoying having his dog's head stroked, and finally sighed:
"Maybe I made a mistake. Harry is right. Fang doesn't usually see Slytherin like this."
Zhang Xiao waved his hand, indicating that he didn’t need to care:
"Hagrid, it's okay. People's prejudices are a big mountain. It's difficult to change people's opinions. And there are indeed some people in Slytherin who are very annoying."
"Oh, don't say such docile sentences to me. It reminds me of when I was in school. Professor Bubbaji always read us Muggle poetry. To be honest, it gives me a headache."
Hagrid took out his tray again, handed it to Zhang Xiao, and said loudly
"Two more rock biscuits?"
Zhang Xiao estimated that this honest big man wanted to express his apology in this way.
In fact, he doesn't care about this in his heart, just like he hates Japan, but if you are a Japanese who calls for admitting his crimes and apologizing to China, it is different.
Moreover, Hagrid was cheated by Slytherin, which outsiders didn't know, but Hagrid knew in his heart that he was wronged, so this attitude can only mean that Hagrid is still an honest person.
Then several people started chatting around the stove, of course mainly Harry and Ron talking about life during this period, and some small complaints, such as how annoying Filch was.
Professor Quirrell had let them down so much. He didn't teach anything useful during class, he just stuttered about vampires.
Talking about Professor Quirrell, Zhang Xiao also thought of this first-year final boss.
Quirrell, he really is.
He really doesn’t intend to teach anything useful!
Just focus on paddling and fishing.
The whole classroom was filled with the smell of garlic and an indescribable stench, which made the little wizard burst into tears, feel nauseated, and retching at every turn.
The sound of retching during the last class was like percussion music, rising and falling one after another.
Anyway, Zhang Xiao planned to desert the entire Defense Against the Dark Arts class, and Quirrell wouldn't care. Moreover, Zhang Xiao seriously doubted whether Dumbledore knew anything, because Quirrell's huge turban was really too suspicious.
By this time, Harry had begun to talk about what happened in Potions class, and Hagrid told Harry not to worry because Snape almost never liked any of his students.
"But he seems to really hate me."
"Nonsense!" Hagrid said, "Why does he hate you?"
"Zhang told me it's because my dad and Professor Snape didn't get on too well at school, is that right Hagrid?"
Hagrid's eyes looked at Zhang Xiao again, looking a little serious.
Zhang Xiao waved his hand: "I don't know much. I heard Malfoy brag about how good his family's relationship with Professor Snape was."
Hagrid was relieved and said vaguely:
"Okay, okay, that seems to be the case, but I'm just a gamekeeper, and I don't know much about the students."
But Harry always felt that Hagrid was deliberately avoiding his gaze when he said this.
Because he simply talked to Ron directly about Charlie and the Dragon.
Zhang Xiao stood at the window and looked at the large open space outside. It was on the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Hagrid planted a bunch of pumpkins next to the hut. These pumpkins were as if they had cast an expansion spell, and each one was surprisingly big.
Harry's surprised voice suddenly came from behind:
"Hagrid! The Gringotts break-in happened to be my birthday. It's possible we were there when it happened!"
This time Hagrid really avoided it. He said "hmm" and expressed his attitude with silence.
Harry and Ron didn't know what to say for a moment. The cabin became strangely quiet, with only the kettle on the stove making a hissing sound.
"Hagrid~" Zhang Xiao turned around and pointed to a large open space outside the window: "Isn't this the Forbidden Forest? Even if students come, it won't be a problem?"
Hagrid took a look and nodded:
"Yes, this is still a short distance from the Forbidden Forest. Why do you ask?"
"Great, can you lend me this land? Or who should I apply to get the right to use this land?" Zhang Xiao's eyes sparkled: "It's a pity to have such a large piece of land here! "
Hagrid looked at him warily. Did this Slytherin show his weakness after all? What evil plan does he have in mind?
"Tell me what you want to do first."
"Farming! To be honest, I can't stand potatoes and meat every day! What I can't stand the most at Hogwarts is the food, it's so monotonous!"
Harry and Ron looked at each other, right? They were very satisfied, it was rich and delicious, and they almost loved the school restaurant!
