Chapter 208: The Remaining Trials Part 2
Genbu is one of the celestial beasts. Although I can consider Genbu as the "tank" of the group, that doesn't mean Genbu doesn't have any sort of offensive power. The viper tail of Genbu is one of the threats that this beast possess. From the way it move and from the way it emits mana alongside that it is part of Genbu's weakness makes it much more understandable.
Genbu made its first move and stomp the ground causing things to shake. If I was in here during the first trial, I would be terrified as I am challenging it on a cave cavern and the chances of the cave collapsing would be pretty high but since we are in the same place but in a different dimension, collapse is highly impossible.
Still, this is pretty hard considering I need to balance myself to avoid getting dizzy with the additional of Genbu's threat.
"ROAAAAARRRRR!"
The tortoise head roared and stomp the ground again, but this time, instead of just shaking, the ground is now popping out of rocks and pillars randomly. One suddenly pop out beneath my feet, which made me back off. But the moment I back off, the viper head of Genbu strikes for an attack.
"F*CK!"
I made a split-second decision and blast a Water Torrent beneath my feet in max power, allowing me to recoil on the opposite direction from where I fired the water. This allowed me to escape the mouth of Genbu. The moment Genbu's tail passed in front of me, I grasp my chance.
"Bring the lightning and asunder the land!"
One of Byakko's ability, Lightning of Sundering appeared in split second, striking Genbu's viper head tail.
"HISSSSSS!"
The viper tail shook in pain before retreating back on Genbu. I am quite sure that the magic I released barely did anything. It was instantaneous but I have seen that the Lightning of Sundering did not really penetrate the skin of the Viper's head.
Since the tail retreated, the main body itself is now on the attack mode. Genbu opened it's mouth and 5 balls of water appeared in front of the tortoise, each ball is the same size of a wrecking ball used for destroying buildings during demolition jobs.
It only lasted for 3 seconds in front of Genbu before it was released.
"You got to be kidding me..."
Due to the size of the water balls and the speed is nothing to be laughed about, I have no choice but to activate [Domain of Balmung] to protect myself.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three out of 5 water balls hit my barriers and I didn't expect it to crack and break half of it. If I didn't reinforced the domain with raw mana, it would have been destroyed the moment the three landed on my domain.
But that is not only the end, the moment the water balls stopped in their advances, they produce steam before exploding.
BOOOOOOM!
The explosion is quite strong that even my reinforced [Domain of Balmung] didn't help. Instead, it destroyed my barrier, and sent me flying in quite a distance before I was stopped by the cavern's walls.
Blood flows out of my forehead and my back hurts like hell. My arms are also covered in wounds since I tried blocking the blast though it failed.
I was not yet fully standing when the viper head once again attacks in high speed that I almost got eaten by it if I dodged late. The cavern wall instead catch the attack of the viper, destroying it and creating a deep crater on the wall.
"Holy sh*t..."
Seeing the attacks are about to get intense, I have to end this immediately.
Reinforcing my legs to run, the viper head started moving once more. In the distance, Genbu is already brewing the five wrecking water balls. Since the experience of those are quite unpleasant, I have to dodge it without hitting those things.
ROARRRRRRR!
Genbu roared before releasing the water balls once again. I activated my Weakness Perception vision and direct my gaze to the water balls.
[Throw a powerful attack, with same strength of power or more against the water ball.]
Looks like my Weakness Perception just don't stop from activating against normal enemies, even attacks are also applicable. I have to end this as soon as possible.
"Lightning of Sundering!"
As so far, all of my abilities in Byakko's inheritance is a much more effective kind of magic than using flames, though it is understandable since it is the water element. If it's weakness is to explode whenever an equal powerful magic or much more powerful than the water ball, it would destroy the accursed attacks.
The moment the Lightning of Sundering hit the water ball, it turned into a steam and disintegrates. Seeing this, I didn't hesitate to continue forward to defeat Genbu as soon as possible.
"Leg enhancement! Body enhancement! Fist Enhancement!"
With the Viper head still not retreating back to Genbu, I decided to take down Genbu in his main body since long endurance battle will instead prove it to be too difficult as Genbu will get more powerful the longer I try to defeat his annoying viper tail.
One thing I noticed in Genbu is that it only does some simple attacks. It has none of the fancy special attacks Byakko and Suzaku released to fight against me.
After putting the pieces together, I have concluded that Genbu's attacks are too limited as Genbu will be more on defensive rather than the offensive side.
When I was a few meters away from Genbu, the viper tail that seems to be looking for me in the rubble has finally returned as the main body had noticed the danger I possess.
"As if I will let you do that! Paralyzing bolt!"
ZAP!
Shooting the Viper tail with paralysis magic will not be a permanent solution so before the paralysis magic wear out, I dash to the main body and released Lightning of Sundering to the water balls still not yet developed fully.
ZAP!
ROOOOOAAAAARRR!
Genbu roared loudly as I interrupted the casting time. One of the bad things magic with casting time is that the moment your magic spell was interrupted while in the middle of chanting or casting it due to any reasons, a huge backlash will ensue to the body of the caster as the magic used will instead go haywire and will injure the caster. And from the looks of it, Genbu is no exception to that rule either.
"Time to end this mister tortoise!"
